Giving up self harming is a very hard thing to do, just liek smoking or drugs. But if you are determained to do it go for your life.

now I found that cutting vegetables like potaoes or pumkin viciously, gets alot of anger out.
keeping your hands busy while having these thoughs weather its colouring or typing at your computer or writing or doing something you enjoy doing.
also keeping anything you would try to harm yourself with by hiding like out of site out of mind type of thing. or even in a difficult place to reach becasue sometimes you just dont feel like getting a ladder taking things out then getting i then putting everything back it just takes time.
also there are the traditional things likes the rubber band on the rist thing, by flicking the rubber band on ur rist each tiem you have an earge fills the earge without doing any permanitny dammage.
everyone is different so trying many different things and finding the best thing for you.
and keep at it im rooting for you
xoxo

I've tried to figure out the cutting phenomenon on several occasions.... but only concluded that its some irrational behaviour by irrational people. I DID however notice several patterns emerging:

People self-harm to self-punish for some perceived flaw in their own character that they are ashamed of.... generally.

If you can improve your self-image.... try appreciating yourself for the way you are as an individual... asthetically... rather than how well you fit in with other people. Put some concerted effort without doubt into changing the way you perceive yourself... and the self-harm should phase out with the change.

Then of course you could attempt suicide. On one hand you might succeed and self-terminate.... On the other hand you might suddenly have a moment of self-realisation when right on the edge.... and completely turn your life around. Sometimes it takes extreme measures to bring about extreme changes.

I feel sorry for you on your loss, you must be feeling really low in spirits to be self harming.
Try to take the positive angle that it just wasn't meant to be this time, and all being well you can have more later on.
If I can get you to do anything you need to talk to a professional counsellor enabling these issues to be worked out.
I hope you have supportive friends n family to assist you whilst seeking help...best wishes to you ....Cheers
