... what is there to stop me from changing my mind again when I get there? As a resolute non-murderer and non-condemner of practises I do myself in secret, I find it annoying that God would be such a walkover as to let someone in just for saying "I believe" when they are inherently untrustworthy. What safeguards does he have against someone sincerely going his way, and then backsliding once they're in paradise?

He has a lie detector and a sliding board that takes them directly to hell if they mess up.

Well, if you believe that God is a supreme Being and that he has all powers and has ALL knowledge, chances are, he knows whats in your heart. Why are we even here on this earth? Well, when we were in heaven and God was creating the earth(which science says took about 4.6 billion yrs) we were voting on whether or not we wanted to accept the plan of God, to come to this earth and receive bodies and be tested and to prove ourselves. Now, if God knows the begining from the end, why would we be here on this earth to prove ourselves, doesnt he already know who will be saved and who wont be? Obviously, if you believe in a God thats all knowing, then yes, so why are we here, nothing more than to prove it to ourselves. God knows what we will do before we do it, he knows if we will be saved or not, he knows if our intentions are real or fake, even before we know it. So, I dont really think that you can "fool" the One who created life, the earth and the Universe, everything. Also, about being a walkover, if you have kids and they screw up, most parents are really forgiving of their kids, and always do what they can to help them and love them(but they still punish their kids), so, if God is a PERFECT being, wouldnt that make him the Perfect Parent as well? I believe that the Lord wants to see all of his children live with him again, but it has to be really hard for him knowing who wont make it and why they wont make, he's losing children because of their own hard heartedness and stupidity.

BUT HE WOULDN"T. It would require repentance not just belief, which you correctly state can change on a whim-although it's hard to change beliefs when confronted by the evidence. However, scripture says that this idea that we are saved by faith ALONE is crap. In Matthew 7:21 Christ himself specifically says not everyone that calls him Lord will be saved but him that does the will of the father. Salvation requires belief/conviction but also the strength to live by those convictions and do the works/G-d's word -not faith alone. Faith alone is false doctrine preached and developed by Luther in an attempt at self justification based on guilt about chronic masturbation -which may or may not be a sin depending on the reasons, motives, circumstances, and mental state of those that do it.

first, obtaining salvation is a wee bit more then "saying" I want to trust in Jesus. We have to mean it. God knows when we are playing games but HE said if we honestly seek HIM, we will find Him. Do not think for a moment that the mercy of GOD indicates that HE is a walkover. He said that He will not be mocked and that whatsoever we sow, that will we also reap.

YES God will forgive if we do repent and honestly admit we have sinned and that we need HIM

No matter what Christians say, the Bible was man-made. The second highest cause of belief in religion is when people are hopeless, and must rely on something false to survive, tricking themselves. I was brought up in a religious family, but I was smart enough to escape it and become a strong athiest.

If you still wish to be a thiest, with all means, stay as one, but do yourself a favour and spend your life looking for evidence of God.

While you are here on earth the Good Lord knows what's in your heart. He knows all the time and anywhere, if you truly repent then you'll go to heaven, but there won't be no backsliding in heaven.

Just saying I believe won't get you in, satan even believes, If you truely repent, & God accepts your sincere Prayer Then God will give you the Seal of The Holy Ghost, Because You won't sneek in & we will be without spot, wrinkle, or Blemish.

The Bible says " do not be deceived, God is not mocked". God is Omnicient - i.e. all knowing therefore He cannot be deceived. That is why He is the ALMIGHTY. He doesn't look at the outward appearance of man, but at the heart.

Good question... You can change you mind... Absolutely....

but, while you think as you do today, you are judging thoughts based on what you see around you....

When, you get there, the thought wont even cross your mind!!
