Because sadly, that phrase was likely invented because of religion. On a side note, if you believe the old testament.. yes, watch out for thunder bolts, locusts, etc. Also, if you believe the old testament, be wary of your parents for now you've given them reason to stone you.

Have a wonderful day :)

My friend, I do not even have a hobby horse let alone a high horse. I do not know what the question was, but I for one do not mind difficult questions. I may have to simply say I do not know but I do my best to answer them.

We often get our view of what GOD is like from our fathers. I think this is one reason why satan fights fathers so much and why he has gotten the radical feminist to have a war on fathers. You see, if he can get a father to be abusive to his children, that is to punish them for the least little thing they do wrong, we will tend to see GOD as a big cop in the sky ready to to zap us the first chance he get. If our fathers are absent, as many are through no choice of their own, we will tend to see God as distant and uncaring.

In reality. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sin. Many times were are told about the mercy of GOD and how long suffering HE is. He only brings judgment on us as a way to help us to look to Him...but HE is never thrilled at seeing anyone hurt.

May I suggest be carefull when you use the word all, I consider myself to be religious but I am extremely laidback. I have never gotton on a high horse regarding God. God is a God of love because He did not want us to go around like robots, He gave us free choice. Ant catastrophies that have happened were not by His plan, but free choice of others like 9/11 it was the free woll of the living satan Osama benLaden to destroy innocents, the Holacaust was the free will of Hitler and his henchmen even the recent Tzami in Asia was because man has and is destroying our environment.

Because they do not like to be reminded that everything the belief is based on an imaginary being. Conservative Christians are no different that Islamic terrorists. They are hateful and, when given the opportunity, take pleasure in torturing and killing nonbelievers.

Most of them are probably insecure with regards to the way they look at God. But if you think God is all forgiving, loving and merciful... why be afraid of him and be insecure about his compassion to you. Right?

It is in their enthusiasm to impress upon you with the correct answer they get on their high horses. Asking a question is easy but it depends on why you are asking this question is more important.

I listen to people talk about God and their spirituality and they don't know what God is about. I'm not religious in any way but I don't believe God picks and chooses and punishes people by giving them Cancer and your certainly not going get hit by lightning. So all these religious zealots think their God is spiteful? hmmph and they think we're going to hell!
