Economics lesson #1: The cheaper a hotel, the less nice it will be. Here's what I recommend: Places to Stay: In Hollywood, I recommend the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel and the Farmer's Daughter Hotel. In Anaheim, I recommend the HoJo Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. If you want to splurge and make this a most memorable trip, stay at Disney’s Grand Californian. You get the full Disney experience. If you don't need to stay by the park, then stay at the Doubletree on Harbor, or even the one in Orange on Chapman. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. If you are looking for something cheaper, just Google "Los Angeles Hostels". That's as cheap as it gets.

if you know someone in Holland/Amsterdam, they could try to buy the ticket there for you with your money and have it mailed to you. Tickets to the US from the benelux are usually cheaper than tickets bought in LA to the benelux. With the currency rate differential between the euro and USD you could make a good deal that way....

I'd inform myself in detail before going ahead and make the purchase, you don't want surprises during the trip...

I personally prefer Virgin Atlantic Airways over KLM, but not sure if they fly from Amsterdam....
