I'm not sure about the personal stories about new Canadians. I don't know if they are experiencing racism or what exact problems they are facing. On the other hand I know a little bit of the numbers, and the composition of the people moving to Canada to create a new home.

Canada lets in about 0.75% of it population each year as immigrants. This means that this years Canada will be accepting about 250 000 new people into the country. Most of the new people coming to Canada are from China, India North and West Africa, Pakistan.

Canada's immigration policy has been changing over the years and is attempting to get higher skilled and younger workers to move to Canada. It helps if the immigrant speaks French or English .

A big problem is the income levels of new immigrants into Canada. A new immigrant that has similar education experience and language ability will on average make 22 to 25% less than a person born in Canada.

I hope this helps a bit.

They would like you to do it before sept 11th because of the holiday season.

But it will make them happy if you now wait until after the first of the year

To the best of my knowledge, the immigration requirements have not changed; however, security screenings have been intensified, especially for applicants from certain countries.
