I'm American, but I think nashpaty has this one. You kinda opened yourself up for that, actually.
Those who weren't persecuted by Saddam were safer before we went. Mind you, that is a big qualifier, and whim could change the population, but day to day life had to be better.
I supported the president because I didn't know what was going on and hoped he did. I don't think we can cut and run now, before the Iraqi government thinks we should. However, while Iraq under Saddam was never a place I wanted to visit, I think I'd be more likely to be killed as an innocent bystander if I went now.

Since America messed up Iraq so bad, and everyday people die, and since it's no longer safe, i have no choice but to chose America.
