I have IE7 and it works pretty great.but i heard firefox is better??witch one would you reccomend??Ie7 is pretty fast.
P.S.i never had firefox

IE 7 has more features than its previous versions. It has also added features for better Security . But Firefox already had some of the security features available and with the New 2.0 version , it offers a feature with which one can recover a lost session - The State of all the tabs is restored to the point before the System Problem .

well personally speaking I would go with IE7. I don't hate firefox, I just like IE7 better. Here's why
FF2 and IE7 are pretty much the same except for the spell check. I like the look of IE7 a lot better than Firefox 2's look. Also IE7 is more streamlined than IE7.
Although the installation isn't as nice, that is a one time thing.
I like IE7's look generally better. Since IE7 and Firefox are pretty much the same (feature-wise) i'd go with IE.

well, people that say they like IE because they never used firefox.
The problem with IE that it's too heavy..it takes more memory space and loads slower..(ex: IE installation file takes 15megs, Firefox installation file takes 5megs) (it is expected from microsoft, they are trying to make their programs heavier so people would upgrade their computers...) than firefox, also there are no tabs in IE6...they made tabs in IE7(as usual stole the ideas from someone else..lol..just like they stole 'windows' and mouse idea from Macintosh, but it takes more memory space compared to IE6 and there are many problems with it. many errors..I see alot of questions on Yahoo 'how do I change back from IE7 to IE6'...
Also IE cashes all webpages and becomes slower, every time you visit website it checks if you visited that website before or not, and if you visited alot of websites then it takes longer for it to search...Firefox does the same but it looks like their search function is alot faster.(try not to clean cashed pages for a month and see how slow it will work(load), then clean cashed pages and see how much faster it will work)...
IE6 had(has) very serious vulnerabilities that allowed(allows) hackers to install Trojans silently(all you had to do is visit a website), it is fixed now but no one knows how many more bugs(exploits) it has(versions from IE1 to IE6 were all bug fixes from previous versions,lol, why can't they make something that works right from the first time, so there won't be no need for version 1,2,3,4..etc..I think that IE7 was written to be included in Windows Vista(it was only released so they can test it and see what kind of problems people get before releasing vista, and it was written from scratch..so who knows how many problems(bugs) it has, and it has hundreds of bugs..believe me..if not thousands..) I'm not saying that Firefox is bug free but it's was written by more educated programmers that use Unix/Linux and not Windows XP, lol..The only problem is that Microsoft is trying to make everyone obey their protocol(monopoly) and websites that were made using microsoft products(ex: Front Page) won't work well with Firefox, some scripts work better in IE that's why some people don't like Firefox..no matter what anyone says..I personally use Firefox 90% and IE 10%..LOL I can write a book talking about microsoft if you want :) I'm a programmer myself, and the things that they make....it's just not acceptable...they fool people...and people pay big money for it...(why release good working version from the first time with all the futures that people might need, if they can make people updgrade* and pay money all the time, lol :).. I guess it's just how business works :)

ALL TO MUCH FALSY....BOTH SUCK...PROBLEM WITH IE IS THAT IT IS SLOW....PROBLEM WITH FIREFOX...WELL IT EATS UP THE WHOLE RAM..I HAVE 512 MB RAM...IT EATS UR WHOLE RAM....DAMN FIREFOX....I USE AVANT BROWSER WHICH IS FAST AND ALSO DOESNT USES MUCH SPACE...ITS SOMMTH...NO BUGS AND CRASHES

firefox is 10x faster but than IE7. firefox eats much of your memory than IE7.
