Four hours of exercise a day seems a little excessive, unless you're an athlete in training?
I think the term 'everything in moderation' should be applied to most things.
Doing heavy exercise everyday can be counter-productive as muscle tissue is formed and strengthened in the rest periods between exercise.
Try taking gentle exercise such as walking, swimming or yoga on your 'off' days and then do your heavy cardio sessions the other days.
It's important to build up to any exercise programme and consult your GP if you haven't exercised in a while.
When exercising, good nutrition is vital so that again your exercise is counter-productive!

I did the exact same thing for wrestling in school; I had practice for two-three hours after school, and I worked out/ran in the morning, and we had to watch what we ate constantly. So the short answer is yes, but long term you will burn yourself out with a regimen like this. Exercise about two hours a day at the very max, and drink plenty of water. If you are asking this because you want to really maximize your workout, split that two hours into two HARD 45 min sessions, once in the morning, and again in the afternoon. The eating healthy regularly is perfectly fine. Good luck!

How can one find 4 hours in a day to exercise. I find it difficult to find time to sleep let alone exercise! I do think that 4 hours is a bit OTT; guidelines say that a healthy diet and 30 minute sessions 3 times a week should do it. Even if you do what to work out everyday, I think an hour max otherwise you'll end up burnt out!

four hours is too much unless you are an athlete in training for an event. Half an hour is probably fine. Eat something within the hour after exercising. Drink enough water.

Is that you again Frank? Still worrying?! 4 hours is a bit OTT - and pretty boring - you would not keep it up. 30 mins of brisk activity (walk, run, swim) a day is all thats necessary for good health.
