As if you need telling. Like any medication the instructions on the label should be followed to the latter. You cannot drink at the party even if you do miss a dose. Most drugs take up to 72 hours to leave your body. The drugs in your body will react with the alcohol and can have devastating effects. If you asked your doctor he would say the same. Don't listen to the idiots who tell you otherwise. If you do not believe this try phoning the NHS direct helpline for advice. They will tell you the same. Anybody who drinks alcohol on top of prescribed medicine is asking for trouble and those that tell you otherwise are ignorant or just being clever. How do I know all this? I read labels and listen to the people who know. I cant believe creamcheese and her advice. The label says NO alcohol. Please stop giving stupid advice to people. NO alcohol.

Do not drink alcohol. Think how anxious you would be the next day if you have a bad reaction? Not a good idea. Just tell folk you are on antibiotics for a chest infection or something similar. Look after yourself, they don't tell you not to drink alcohol for nothing. Whats the point in taking the pills if you are not prepared to participate yourself in getting over your anxiety? Go to your party enjoy your time with your family, you don't need to drink to have a good time. It's fair to point out here that it's likely you will be prescribed this medication for a sustained period of time therefore its not something you can stop and start whenever you feel like it. Are you seeing a counsellor as well? You should be working out the root of your anxiety with a professional in order to give yourself the best chance. In the end it is up to you but think how serious you are about getting your life back on track.

I was on Paroxitine about 5 years ago for severe anxiety!! and to be honest i did drink on them!!! they dont really make you loop out but you will get drunk very quickly and often feel quite tired and weepy the next morning...
I say have a drink but in moderation... and if you start to feel a bit "everyones looking at me" god theres too many people here for my liking.... Go home and rest!!
I hope that your journey to recovery is quick.... Paroxitine and counselling helped me no end!!!

What I would suggest is do not take both and try to attend the party and watch the outcome of it. Then decide whether you can live with out having either of the two. Make up your mind and go enjoy the party and face the situation bravely. Just like what Baba has said " Why Fear when I am Here." Good luck to you.

You sound like you should enjoy yourself - unfortunately it takes 2-3 weeks for paroxetine to establish itself in the body (and an equal time to leave). Therefore missing one tablet dose does not solve the problem, which is that you may become extremely drowsy /unsafe in your actions. (Don't drive!!!) If you are accompanied AND IF THE DOSE IS LESS THAN 25 mgs: miss the dose on the day and allow yourself one beer /glass of wine. If the dose you are taking is >25 mgs, I would heed the warning. (From: Nurse 'Creamcheese).

personally i would miss the tablet and have a social drink
but bear in mind it could take a week if not more to get back on track with the medication
and alcohol and anxiety go hand in hand
read this article for more information,

I take medications that are sensitive to alcohol as well. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor, it may be okay to drink in moderation, but not in large quantities. They can guide you in the right direction.

You can have a great time without drinking. I suggest looking at more natural alternatives to treating your anxiety. Most pills are bad for you and never cure-only control symptoms....at best.
