I love my dog so much...and I can't stop staring at her, playing with her, kissing her, hugging her, etc. etc. I'm currently a student and sometimes I find myself at home the whole day, grinning from such happiness at my dog. This is all good but I'm becoming anti-social and ineffective with school work. What can I do to keep me away from a dog a bit and concentrate on living my own life?

Your question title is a bit disturbing. But nevertheless, if your dog doesn't influence you into drugs, alcohol, sleeping around, smoking, stealing etc, then she is your best friend. She is keeping you away from harmful people and keeping you safe from the 'dangers' of the world. About your studies, try to find a study group, go for tuition etc. At least then you can socialise constructively and have intellectual conversations. Take your dog for a walk around the neigbourhood or to a park. Meet other people who have dogs. They probably love their dogs just as much as you love your dog.

I'm the same way with my cat. I've never had a pet before and Iove her soooo much! If this dog is your first pet, it could just be you're so thrilled to have a pet and the novelty of it might wear off after a bit.

dogs are great companions and you can tell them anything and they wont judge you.
i think that you should go and spend some time each day outside, perhaps going to the shops or somewhere where you can be away from your dog and interacting with other people. doing thi in small amounts like maybe 2 or 3 half hour blocks each day.

Mentally and socially, you're becoming more and more like a dog. I know that sounds harsh, but it is better to face reality than to be in denial. You must seek human companionship.

Many people say dogs are nicer than a lot of people. We too have a dog we are crazy about.

its good you give her love and attention.
Just try to housebreak her so that you can leave her alone for a while and you can go out and do other stuff.
its gonna be hard not looking at that adorable face, but just try! :-)
