According to my knowledge Jews were awaiting two prophets - Alijah and Messaih.

John and Jesus could not settle their positions as to who is Messaih amongs them! (As per the prophecy ).

They accepted each other as prophets with message of God.There was no question " Who is God / Man".

I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE, only meant, at that time, that in purpose and message, we are one. No jew could take it as divine relation of body and soul?

Jesus also said, in the Gospal of John, to Desciples YOU AND ME ARE ONE? Then we shall have to accept 13 or 14 Gods for our salvation?

How you see this situation? - Thanks.

heh?!

I'm not aware of any conflicts between the two. And uh. Jesus and John the Baptist BOTH knew Jesus was the Messiah. . . as far as I can tell at least it seems pretty clear.

John the Baptist "prepared the way" for the Messiah.
Jesus is the Messiah. He fulfilled the prophesies of the Old Testament.

Good luck to you my friend.

wrong! John NEVER thought he was the Messiah, he said he was one preparing the way for the Messiah. Later Jesus came and said that John was indeed Elijah who was to come before the Messiah. If you read the first few chapters of the book of John you will see all this there.. God Bless!

and Jesus said that He and the Father were one IN ESSENCE...

John the Baptist made no claims about being God, in fact he was very clear that he was just a messenger, preparing the way for the coming messiah.
"I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE" meant that Christ and his Father were one, in all things it was not symbolic.

There was no dispute between Joh n the Baptist and Jesus. John know that Christ was the Messiah and was there to prepare the way for him. read your bible more closely. The Messia is the saviour, John denied the claims that he was the messiah and stated " There comes one after me whose sandals I am not worthy to unlace." He was speaking of Jesus to whom he said' YOU should be baptising Me."

Well first of all it was Elijah who was to set the way for Jesus.
the Bible states I tell you true He has come. There is much proof
in the bible Elijah was John the Baptist, also Jesus and John were cousins and John the Baptist was also a Miracle birth.

The problem with Jesus, and John the baptist went back to the 4th of July picnic when John the baptist got drunk, and started hitting on Mary Magdalene. Then he busted Jesus's favorite wicker lawn chair. It's all in the bible.

Jesus and John were cousins and were brought up as friends. there was no dispute between them. Where ever you got your info(probably islamic garbage postings) it was wrong.
