I am afraid that women will be so turned off by the fact that I have reached this age without ever having a girlfriend. Are there any women that will see beyond this fact and like me for who I am? Or did I miss the boat about 5 years ago?

I do not think this will be to much of a problem it appears you are shy and may have a fear of rejection until you overcome those fears it may be you asking this question ten years from now. Start talking you are the only one that can help yourself get out of this situation. Heres a good tip go out with some guy friends
if you see a girl you would like to meet and are scared see if one of your friends would break the ice for you like saying hi my friend would like to meet you it could be that easy.

Dude, there's nothing wrong with that! I only got my first bf six months ago, and I'm 24. Remember, times change, and the agegroup of people starting with relationships are getting higher. These days, there are so many things to keep us busy, like university, a good job, sport, stuff like that.
It's not like in the old days, when there was nothing to do, when the people started serious relationships when they were 12/13 and got married at 16. 27 is a good age. You got a long life ahead of you.
Go out, and enjoy your life to the max, before you start worrying about settling down. Travel, see the world, meet new people. Your time for being in a serious relationship will come. Love will find you.

Yes i actually think that some women would probably see this as a nice challenge for them...don't be so hard on yourself...i don't think your the first and you wont be the last to have reached this age and not have had a woman.....people are so wrapped up in the reasons why a person should not be single, or should have had sex by a certain age....things aren't always going to be like that we all progress at different stages....and i actually think you are strong, and in touch with your feelings to be able to express them on this site knowing the sharks out there who are ready to draw blood so to speak, and have a field day with this question, but having said that i actually see you have some pretty positive answers here which is good.....and remember not all women are that shallow.

I wouldn't date a 27 year old because I'm too young. Buuuut, honestly I would very much wonder what was up with this dude. Either he is very socially awkward, or he was some player who just slept around and never had a girlfriend. Both seem unappealing.

You didn't miss the boat, but maybe ladies sense your insecurity. Have faith in yourself!! You don't need to disclose any of those details until you're ready & you think the girl is even worthy of knowing the real you.
I know - join a band! No matter how lame you are, some girls can't help but be with the guy in a band.

alot of women see beyond that sort of stuff, the thing is u need to be a nice peorson, and lz dun go tellin women that the 1st or 2nd time u meet, 1st create a comfort zone and that should take care of most of ur prob.
just go with the flow, and gater ur wit and all and go ask someone out already: but a lil heads up, be a gentlemen, women dyn like drooley guys

I married my husband four years ago and he hadn't had a girlfriend. He was 42. He is a good husband and father. Take your time. Don't worry about it.

i totally disagree with u, about the turing off part, your still young believe me, im 17 and i would date guyz that age, but if i knew that a guy never had a gf before cuz he never found the right one would make it like a competiton to win you and to be the first but its not only a competion thats would drive this girl into u, its also being attracted to u , good luck with that...

you haven't missed the boat... there's nothing to worry about. you need to be confident of yourself and people will be attracted to that. just be yourself and someone out there will like that. don't stress mate.
