DangIt Girl... 1 corinthians ch 11 verses 1-16. many people have misunderstood the meaning of verse 13 and ruled that there is no longer a reason to cover a woman's hair. i have in depth interpretations of Christian scholars, if you are interested

for any who were wondering.... headcovering in Islam is practiced for modesty and protection of women. this is very clearly ordered in the Quran (24:30-31. 33:59) the theory behind this practice is that if your body is covered with loose clothing and your hair is covered there is nothing left to see besides your personality.

***this is a VERY short definition of hijab. feel free to email me if you'd like a more in

If they feel it is a valid part of their religion to practice, then so be it. I cannot fault them for it, and they wouldn't be the first to follow a religion where head coverings were deemed appropriate. It doesn't hurt me in any way any more than my wearing a cross around my neck hurts them.

I got used to seeing women in Sydney wearing the hijab. There is a young girl with hijab in Mayer working as a sales assistant & she is lovely - smart, articulate & realy helpful to customers. She alsways smiles, has beautufyl eyes & I do not notice her hijab.

However in hot summer day I feel sorry for those females not able to go for a swim & let their hair out.

I feel that is is part of the culture of the Muslim faith and in a way it showes a sence of dignity and grace. I cant remember the exact reason but I do know that the Bible of the Christian faith states similar beliefs concerning a woman's hair.

i am not affected.. it's their choice..

but when it comes to uniforms and security purposes, i think it's justiable to ask them to remove the scarf.. don't misunderstood me.. i have friends who are muslims and cover their hair, i have no issues..i respect their religion..

but they can still remains faithful even without the veil right??? and they can still wear it when they are off work , school holidays right?? they are still many modern muslim women that don't wear veil right??

please do not assume that we are biased because of the veil.. or because the girl is muslim ... sometimes religious rules need to be followed, but there's still social security, company regulations, and school rules to comply with.. if all other religion obeys, it might just be fair for muslims to follow too?? right??

If she's cold then by all means cover up. But if the whether is hot then she might want to reconsider.

I don't really have a problem looking at them. I am a person who doesn't exactly follow a religion, so in a way it makes me happy to see that there are people who can take comfort in what they believe.

It just makes me really curious about what their hair looks like and I'm always thrilled when a little bit of hair shows. I don't dislike them at all, I just want to know what their hair looks like.

in the fact that it is a way they can do something involving their physical body as a representation of their faith - like any similar thing - i think can be beautiful.

as a practical thing, that separates people, the sexes, picks one religion over the next - i think to be pointless

I feel that any requirement that wipes away a persons ability to be an individual is morally wrong. If all are the same, then none are significant.

I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!
