most dogs all have a life expectancy of 14-18yrs... although my friends dachsunds is now 19 and is still healthy.

have a look at this website, it has all the information about dachshunds aswell as every other breed of dog.

as for life span it says this "This popular little dog usually lives up to 12 years of age, but given a loving home and the correct nutrition Dachshunds will often live up to 14 years of age."
