commit suicide? If it is. Does that make someone who wants to commit suicide but is afraid to an even worse coward since it is such an easy way out?

SUICIDE IS A BIT OF A COP OUT, BUT I DON'T REALLY THINK THE PERSON IS A COWARD. I THINK THEY ARE VERY TROUBLED AND NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP.

SUICIDE IS A PERMANANT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY PROBLEM.

I do not think it is a cowards way to commit suicide, because one should be brave enough to do an act that all considers as cowards and prefer to continue rather than put an end to everything. To commit suicide requires a strong will. Cowards would not dare to do an act which requires a strong will Not only that you should have it in your destiny as a way to make an end to the present way of living.

Why do you care if people think you are a coward if you are dead anyway?

Probably because you don't really want to be dead. You just want something to make the pain go away.

Done, I've noticed you asking another suicide question tonight. Instead of crying for help on the internet at 4 in the morning (or whatever time it is there) talk to a real, empathetic human being.

Don't think you can put the 2 together. Cowardice has nothing to do with suicide. When someone thinks of suicide, they are normally at a loss, in great pain, not thinking logically but emotionally in turmoil. If you think about it, it takes a lot to actually do it (not that I'm advocating it) - how can that be considered cowardly as the action was followed through.

I had a childhood friend who committed suicide at age 17. I did not think it was cowardice, just sad as she probably thought that she had no other way out & could not take the burden any more. She just could not cope -totally different reasons - not cowardice.

I think if it were really such an easy way out, there'd be a lot more suicides.

This whole "suicide is cowardly" is a Western thing. Look at the Japanese and their tradition of hari kari. That wasn't based on cowardice at all (although it was based somewhat on shame).

Not advocating that you commit suicide--just saying, your belief that it is cowardly is based on the fact that you were born and raised in a Western culture that told you it was cowardly.

I do not think suicide is the coward's way out. Suicide is in most cases the result of a mental illness. It has nothing to do with being a coward.

I don't encourage it. Though I have thought about it myslef. With the way people are these days they encourage someone to commit suicide without even realizing it. Its a cruel world and unfortunately, people are willing to take shots at someone who needs help rather than help them. Now if thats not encouraging suicide I dunno what is. Not saying everyone is like that, but now its "every man for himself" and if the other guy dies "its not my problem". There are some who care, but not as many as there used to be. I went and seen a therepist once and he didn't help me at all! Cause I could tell that he was just there to get his paycheck. He didn't seemed that concerned about me at all! So I went and found someone who does. I wouldn't say its cowardly, I would say more like someone who needed help and was rejected. Or not taken serious enough. Its funny how someone can cause a suicide by messing up someone's life and when they are gone they say "its not my fault" or "i tried to tell him". Anything to get rid of the guilt. Well, it is partially your fault! And you are guilty. No, you didn't make them committ suicide, but you did encourage it. Therefore you are at fault as well.

YES!!! youre not afraid of the actully fact of doing it, its more that you know there is still so much left for you to do. people that do it is in my eyes a coward, we all hurt. sometimes you get so depro that you just think, "why not, whats left" but it does get better. but know one ever really know how someone else feels. and nothing is that bad, everything has a solution.
