I used a card reader to upload pix to my computer, and the next time I put it in my Canon A70, display read "memory card error". Back in the card reader, computer says there's an "I / O error". Camera works fine with another card. Any hope for the "bad" card?

Have you tried formatting it on the camera? Under funtions?

Try formating the card while in the card reader if you can't format it in the camera. Worst case scenario is you might lose a little space if you use your computer format program. DO NOT format the card in FAT 32 format. That is for cards 4GB and over and your camera may not read it then. Might be the root cause of your I/O error if you did that last time you took the pics off the card.

sometimes they can be saved. Check and see if the maker of the card offers data recovery.
