MySpace is only as harmful as each user makes it to be. Sure if you put all your vital info on there and then someone is now stalking you, HELLO. And if you agree to meet strangers from MySpace, then that's your risk. Parents need to teach their kids that strangers on the internet are still strangers and don't talk to them or take rides from them or take their candy that they offer.
MySpace is a great way to network and catch up with old friends that you don't have time to call or e-mail. Also great for bands. It is not bad for society. Society's problems were here before MySpace and they will be here after MySpace.

The only danger is of privacy and safety being breached, especially if you put a lot of personal stuff on your page. You risk stalkers learning as much as they can about you. Some younger folks are not aware of the danger and reveal quite a lot about themselves in a very public place.
Older members might not want to be too openly controversial and co-workers or supervisors may take their blogs as serious threats to the company. This sounds like another privacy matter, but we should just watch out what information we make public out there. lest it embarass or even endanger us.

Depends how stupid people can be, and I mean that in the outmost respect for those individuals :D lol. Just use it for buddies and stuff. But Myspace is alot of things, just be careful how YOU use it. Its not a popularity contest in there *though many think it is* and it certainly should not hold personal info *ex. phone number, ssc, etc*
Hope this helps~

No. People are just looking for a scapegoat and they make myspace one.
Parents should take more responsibility with what their kids are doing on the computers. Myspace is not their babysitter.

Myspace, Facebook, and the others are rampant for not just child molesters, but for leaking personal information that winds up all over the internet.

It's only bad if people don't exercise some common sense. There are some bad people on myspace, out to hurt gullible people, but you'll find that anywhere.

It is as bad as an individual makes it. If you put your HS, college, last name, other personal information pretty good chance you will have an unwanted guest. If you are smart and don't put a bunch of personal information you will be fine!
(oh and phone numbers.. ive saw a lot of ppl put those on ppls comments, if you want someone to have it keep it in the inbox peoples..)

I think its actually helping people become more sociable, my space is introducing a whole new way to attain friends and attract people with the same way of thinking. I think its just making society stronger, building it into a community that spans throughout the world. or maybe I'm just being naive =P.

I think it has been used for bad, like soliciting to minors by grown folk. It can be a good thing though if you only talk to the people you know and don't give out any personal information, like your hometown or job.

Well, it supposedly puts minors at risk for attracting predators. That isn't myspace's fault. That is all of the stupid parents out there who let their kid have an account. If their kid gets molested ain't nobody's fault but their own.
Myspace is completely lame to me though. It's pretentious and stupid to me.
