From your question i feel really sad for the guy that's with you because you value him so little. how terrible to be used thrown away and then picked back up again after being kicked by you(in the balls no less). just get it overwith and break up with him and don't ever bother the poor guy again. *DOH* didn't read your additional comment your not breaking up with him your taking a break from each other(looking to make a trade in for the newer model)

Doesn't sound like a real breakup if you want to get back later. No easy way to do it the way you want. He'll be hurt no matter what. It makes it harder to trust when you keep leaving and coming back...where do you go off to , anyways?

Why would you want to break up with him in order to just get back with him later?

Tell him that you want a break & that you think things are moving too fast for you. Tell him that you will go out with him again when you are ready. Just make sure to keep your promises.

i tried that with my girlfriend!-it didn't work so well. just tell him your not ready for the relationship right now, but you might be at a later stage. be honest with him.
