We hope Mr George W Bush will rethink his decision for making war with Iraq and he will withdraw his armforces from Iraq elegantly in a near future by letting Iraq people to manage independently their affairs. The people of USA should pray to God for changing the thought of the president to better peace keeping in this world and he can love and honour other people of other countries for determining their own fate/destiny..We hope he will
wake up from his dream and see the reality.Amin
If he does not change his mind we will hope the new president will give a great change and make a better life for the people of USA. and your son will come back soon in savety.

Ma'am, I want you to read something for me. It is a short letter by Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln sent a letter to the mother of five fallen soldiers (all of them her sons) during the civil war. I think his words will comfort you.
Executive Mansion,
Washington, Nov. 21, 1864.
Dear Madam,--
I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln

Your son fights for this Republic and our freedom. There is no better fight.

Unity = Success = All desire Freedom. Who asked him to go to war? I am Canadian. I am under the impression that America stood for liberty. Americans don't enslave. The English do. I watched the towers fall. We all did. The world demanded action. Almost 3 thousand innocent from different countries died in about an hour. It took about 5 years for 3 thousand American soldiers to die. The Americans help the Iraqi people, they protect them, feed them, give them shelter and hope. I watch the news. I see it. I suggest you go and watch Mr. Eastwood's new movie "Flag of Our Fathers".

I went to Iraq with only three days notice myself.
Just wait for his tour to be complete.
Do you really think that your son wants to let everybody he serves with down by coming home early?

If we withdraw now, we announce to the world that if you just kill enough Americans, the big boys will go home and let you do whatever you want. Every American in the world then becomes a target. And, because we have announced that we will do nothing to protect them we will sonn be fighting here at home.
So when will he come home when his job is done. He is a man and wants to do his best. I know as a mother you want him safe. This is a long fight and it will not be done any time soon.

there is no way to bring him home until the military allows him leave. he knew when he signed up for the military there was a chance of going to war, you cannot make him come home for selfish reasons. let him fight for his country. ps I am a democrat but sometimes you got to know, you are fighting so there can be peace in the world. if this is not true i have lost 3 friends in vein and i wont allow myself to believe that

Unfortunately you will probably have to wait for two years. Then, in the Presidential elections, you should vote for a 3rd candidate, should there be a peace & justice loving one.

Here's hoping for his safe return, and my thanks for his and your service. No matter what people say, this is one of the truly noble things one can do in their life. I have no answer as to what will bring him home or when he could return. Wish I did. But tell him thank you please. :)
