When I start my computer it asks me which version of windows I want to start with and the choices are both the same, can anyone tell me how to fix this?

The computer has 2 drives and I just upgraded to XP and reformatted the main hard drive.

I will be guiding you on my Win 2000 but it's almost the same.
Go to My Computer -> right click -> Properties.
Move through the tabs until you see something like "Startup and Recovery". It should be in the "Advanced" tab or something close to it.
There you can uncheck the option to detect existing operating systems.Afterwards it will be OK and it won't show up anymore.

You might want to make sure you format your drive on the next reinstall of windows XP (it will happen sooner or later :) )

Good Luck to you

if you have two drive boot up and select the first drive then go into your hardware and see wich drive your currently using. If they are the same amount of gigabites I think they have like a 0 and a 1 to denote in your computer info when you right click on my computer. You can figure it out that way or by putting a file on one and seeing which one has the file on it after you save it. The compter is also asking which hard drive you want to load windows with. I guess you could uninstall windows on one of the hard drives to eliminate this problem.

I remember that there is someoption in the BIOS, where you can disabe the multi OS operating option.
or the other way is to format the whole hard disk properly and install it once gain.
