Why do some christians (or creationists) on this site believe that the creation was not done in Six litteral days? Why do you scoff at the bible? Some of you believe that the six days were actually "ages", and thus the creation model is suitable to the evolution model. Don't you know that you can't have it both ways? Evolution is NOT compatible with the bible! The creation was NOT six ages, God said in Revelations 3:16"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." You can't have it both ways, so please stop scoffing at the Word of God, The earth is approx 6000 years old, approx 4000 years ago there was a flood!
The next verse actually describes that there would be people like u, remember this world has been judged before with the Flood, and will soon be Judged again.
2 Peter 3:3-7:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3:3-7

Christo, these people are ignorant towards the word of God.
ROMANS 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

when you read scripture it is just as important not to add meaning that is not there as it is to understand and accept what is there and what the message is.
I am not going to go into great detail on what is not there, and I agree that verticle evolution is just a toy theory. However to understand the 6 days and many other time determinations based on an exceptionally literal interpretation and realize that what is not written modifies what is can be a belief that separates members of the body which can only be wrong and the result of the teachings of one who has a hidden agenda against the preimanent doctrine of being in one accord and that we will be known for our love for one another. I see very little of that love and acceptance in your question. You might want to check out and make a list of what is not said, and then make sure. Where is the word first or only creation, or that man was created here on earth. Where is the location of Eden given. Why did the creation here the first or only creation, there are a multitude of things not said and remember it was written in a language of pictures unlike the roots of our language and was written so as not to discriminate towards the less intelligent so all might understand the message given.
If you are trying to separate members of the body you are directly opposed to the will of God. stop

Amen!! Six days!! And God rested on the seventh day, meaning finished, finito! The creation was Done! The bible is "the word of God" God cannot lie! Read Hebrews 4:1-4 It answers the entire question. I am "resting" in faith on that. You can only try to bring people to Christ but the Father must call them first, when they openly reject you bringing a free gift, do as the word "Jesus" tells us, "stamp the very dust from your feet" and move on. Remembering Galatians 5:25,26 To walk in the spirit and love each other, do the best you can to inform of the truth but don't provoke to anger where you undo whatever goodness you intended, you wind up fooling yourself and being no better than an unbeliever. It is self righteousness and false piety. We can only be "watchmen" and warn, your right, God said in the last days it would be like in the days of Noah, and yes, scoffers and mockers. God Bless us all

sure, a minimum of this one does. i'm what you may want to call an 'previous Earth Creationist' and many everybody isn't conscious that we exist. the following that is in a nutshell: The Hebrew observe used to outline 'day' in Genesis a million is 'yom' which does not continually translate as a literal 24 hour day. searching on what describer is used with it 'yom' can mean 'sundown,' 'first watch,' or the different unit of time. In genesis financial disaster a million that is used with none describers in any respect (the purely position contained in the Bible this takes position) So, if we take the interest 'yom' to intend 'era of time' (ie: one billion years the following, one billion years there - bear in mind that historic peoples had no psychological idea of a range that wide) then the creation tale in Genesis matches up VERY heavily with what technology is telling us about the large bang. in case you imagine your self status the position the earth will be because the large bang unfolds round you, the outline it quite somewhat spot-on. a million. there replaced into not something (many historic religions presuppose the existence of the international) darkness replaced into everywhere 2. there replaced into gentle (the first ingredient that would want to have come from the large bang) 3. the earth replaced into formless and void - enormous cloud of dirt coalescing right into a planet 4. there replaced into day and nighttime - the earth is popping now 5. God separates 'the waters of the land' from 'the waters of the heaven' - we've an surroundings and water vapor 6.Dry land looks 7. plants looks (likely in many cases spore generating flora as there might want to nonetheless be very much of dirt holding out most of the gentle) 8. solar, stars, and moon. (they were continually there, yet now that the dustcloud is lengthy gone we may be able to make sure them) 9. Water creatures look 10. extra complicated animals look 11. guy looks No undesirable for non secular textual content eh? besides, my worldview facilitates billions of years between now and the starting up of creation (the large bang). So sure, i count number on relativity. bear in mind that Christians who count number on some thousand three hundred and sixty 5 days previous universe (youthful Earth) get that decision by tracing decrease back the chronology in holding with Jesus' kinfolk tree, they bend any medical information to in good structure that presupposition. desire this allows

Not all Christians are Creationists.
It would be lovely if we were all of one mind and one soul, but we are not. We are individuals, and while I do not scoff at your beliefs, I cannot believe them myself. Firstly, because I do not think that I am smart enough or spiritually evolved enough to interpret the bible as you have, and I must reserve judgement for those parts of it I cannot explain. I am still waiting to hear the truth. Just reading the words of the Living Word does not mean that they can be understood in so straight-forward a manner. There are many many things in the bible that I do not understand. But I pray for enlightenment, and your explanation, I'm afraid, does not seem to be ringing any bells with me. I do believe that it was inspired, but I do not try to begin making any sense of it, for it is Words of the Spirit, and here on Earth, the Spirit sometimes sleeps.

It doesn't really matter what you believe on this, as Paul said, "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind." (Rom. 14:5). As long as you believe God created the earth, there is no reason to argue about the veracity of your knowledge over that of another Christian. For those who have no faith or hope in a life beyond this one, these sorts of things will continue to be contentious; but why should it matter to those who believe in God?

Uhhhhh. what?
seriously though. I don't see what relevance the passages from 2nd Peter have to do with the time frame for creation. people worry about the details too much. your salvation doesn't depend on how long you think it took the Lord to create . . .creation.

God created the universe in 6 literal days, 6000 years ago. It was formed complete, as a mature universe with its history, just as a mature tree has many growth rings. Adam and Eve were created as fully formed adults. The universe was created as fully formed.

The profundity of your ignorance is truly astounding. In order for the earth to be only 6k years old, all 49 types of radio-isotope dating would have to be bogus, the speed of light would have to be a crawl, and all of the Astronomers, Microbiologists, Paleontoligists, Climatologists and Physicists through the ages would have to be charlatans whose entire lives were lost in delusion!
MORE LIKELY... Bible literalists have their heads up their collective @SSES and are trying desperately to stop the march of scientific progress and return us to the dark ages!!
Go back to your cage of ignorance, freak! I will die fighting before I allow my kid to be taught this crap!!

I believe that God created the world in 6 literal days. Plus HE is capable of doing so! Is that so difficult to understand? There is no gap theory.
Don't worry brothers and sisters, we are living in the last days. What you see here is just a taste of what is to come.
God Bless.
