Unconditional...

No matter who you are....

No matter what you look like....

No matter where you've been....

There are differnt types of love:

The love for your spouse...

The love for your child(ren)....

The love for yourself...

The love for your life...

The love for family...

The love for Jesus Christ...and the love HE gives us...

without HIM...None of these would be possible!

That is actually a rather hard question to answer. It's different for every person, it just depends on the experience. For me, love it when I can't stand being away from my someone for more than a few hours, because we live together. And when I'm not around him I'm constantly thinking about him, and wondering what he is doing or if he is thinking about me. Also, sometimes I want to cuddle up on our futon and watch TV, a movie or talk, rather than have any kind of sex. Also, in my opinion it's just how your heart feels. To me if you can picture yourself spending the rest of your life with that someone, and they can picture you with them to, it's love. You don't always have to agree on everything for it to be love, because there is no a real perfect relationship, but some do get very close. Also, when you look into their eyes and your breath catches and your heart skips a beat, and you just melt into their kiss. Usually for me a way I know is that when my fiance says I Love You, I can't breathe, and my heart stops for a moment... Not in a bad way, it just makes me melt. But like I said, it's hard to define love, because of how different each experience is.

Love would be a choice. At first it is true that you feel attracted with feelings and everything. However, psychologists discover that after 2 years, this feeling will eventually dissappear. When you choose to care for that person, make that person happy, then it's love. When you don't care what the other party thinks of you, hating you for it or misunderstood but you know that what you did for that person is best for him/her, then you truely love. Some might say "when you're willing to die" but i want to change it. It is when "youre willing to live". Dying for someone is easy, you just die and not know anymore (and leaving your loved one alone). But to live and face the world with that person, every trials, that is tough. When you're in love with a person in a relationship, you would always think what you can sacrifice to make this relationship better, not what you can get out of that relationship. It is also not changing the person you love, but changing yourself or perspective for the one you love. If i ever get out of topic, i'm sorry.

In my opinion, true love is caring about someone else's interests more than your own.

It's been said that people act purely out of self-interest. Even things such as volunteering can be said to come from selfish motives (wanting to feel good, etc.). I think this is true, UNLESS you love someone. There are many types of love... love for someone else just as a member of the human race, love for a friend, love for your family, or love for a bf/gf/spouse. They all share the same core, though, of putting that person's interests ahead of your own. Love allows us to do something contradictory to our selfish natures.

This true love, in my opinion, is pretty rare. But I know it exists. I love others in this way, and I know they love me also. For example, since this question is in the Singles & Dating section after all... I would sacrifice anything for my boyfriend, whom I love very deeply. I already have put his needs ahead of mine on several occasions, and don't regret it in the least or feel any anger towards him for it. I know he would do the same for me, because what we feel for each other is much more than physical attraction or the ability to make each other laugh. It's true love.

jade64!

When you wakeup from your sleep at early morning, just open the windows and look out. You will see a pair birds sitting together and talking in their own language! If you can understand that they say daily, I will say you understood "what is love?"

It is so deep far from all kinds of feelings and has no scale to measure ! You have to feel it!!!

Love is remembering how peaceful your child looked while sleeping, as you're cleaning up the carton of eggs that just exploded "on accident" all over in the kitchen.

I realized I loved my bf (then) when I knew I could give up my life for him. I wanted him to be happy and I was willing to do anything to make him happy. I was really glad to wake up next to him. I was so glad to have him with me, I often woke up in the middle of night, felt him next to me and tears just falling.
