It is good to here that you no longer practice wicca. I see that your nickname is I love the Lord. Do you hold true to that?
From what i heard and can gather, wicca is a cult and the first commandment says, that we should not put anything or anyone before God. He is the only protector from evil.
Be Blessed and you are in my prayers

I hope you realize that the circles, chanting, etc, are really no different than prayers to God, in that respect? Both are calling upon a higher power to achieve some sort of goal - such as protecting from evil. The only difference is that higher power being called upon - Christians call upon God, while those who practice Wicca call upon their gods.
Thus far, my only bad experiences have been with people.

I follow a different neo-pagan path than Wicca. Your question makes it obvious that you never really practiced/believed in Wicca. If you had, you wouldn't be asking Wiccans if they really believe in their religion. Reading tarot cards is a practice that is performed by people of many different faiths---most of which do not practice the religion of Wicca. Wiccans believe in Gods---many of them. They feel that their deities protect and bless them just as you feel that your deity does this for you. If you had practiced Wicca, you would know this. Just because you claim to have practiced a religion that you never believed in doesn't mean that other Wicca do not truly believe in what they practice.
I was raised polytheist in the 1970's and I have not experienced any "evil" from it. There have been consequences for my actions, but that would be true regardless of what religious beliefs I have.

I see. You don't think that holding hands in a prayer circle isn't a form of magic . AS defined by calling on a higher power than yourself to preform a specific goal is any different than Pagans that stared the rites and rituals that you are now using is less better when they form a circle and chant.
Both are still a matter of personal belief.
following your reasoning then your current way is just as evil as ours is.
No bad experiences from it yet. even though I practice a dual religion of both Celtic Paganism and Christianity. no thunderbolts from the sky yet nor feelings of going to Hell.beyond what all people of any religion feel at times.
If you used to practice Wicca then you know that we have a different name or names for the Creator of all things than the Christians do.But that we both are calling on the same Divine force that is called by many names.

Protection spells depend on the users strength. If it is something valuable to the user, the stronger the spell is. I have had things back fire, I summoned an imp once. I should have took a picture. Still to live and learn. God is in the fine lining of everything, even spells.

Wiccans aren't the only ones that cast a circle during a ritual, pagans in general do too. Reading tarot cards isn't exclusively a wiccan practice either.

In calling Wicca evil you are using a judgment from the religious views you currently hold. Do you really think that is fair? You are telling them that your worldview is now more correct than theirs. How do you know? Where is the empirical evidence that supports that?
There is no empirical evidence - it is all about faith and belief. You have yours which you have every right to and Wiccans & other Pagans have theirs and they have their rights to theirs. They will not turn around and tell you that you are wrong you need to worship the Goddess; so why do you judge them when your religion specifically teaches 'Judge not lest ye be judged'.

Eight years of chaos magic, and no bad experiences yet--although I'm quite aware of the dangers, which is, in a way, kind of the point.
(Actually, one bad experience, but that was caused by a person interfering with something we'd created...and the creation didn't much like the person, which was a good thing anyway, and it was a very good indicator to get said person out.)

Wicca isnt evil... people who misuse it are evil. You cant use wicca to further yourself or it'll backfire into something really bad. it should be used to help others in an unselfish act. I dont practice it, i know people who do

First off I am Christian. However, you did believe in this at one time, correct? So who are you to knock others just because you changed your mind? Wicca is of white magic I believe, at peace with nature and the universe? What is evil about that? I go and have my cards read twice a year, nothing evil about it. Explain evil to me please.
