Because I know him, and I tend to believe in beings I know. I mean, I believe that you are there because there is evidence of you--hence, I know you. I believe in God because there is evidence of him in my life--hence, I know him. Moreover, my relationship with God grows. Evidence of a living God.

I never remember a time when I did not feel His presence. Actually I didn't come to a bible teaching church, or begin bible study, until I was in my 40's. Very interesting when I did, because I recognized that "presence" that had always been with me. I knew it was God for all those years, but that's about all I knew before I ever opened His word. Now He has shown me great and mighty things!

He is the only ONE that has always had my back. From my first abuse as a 4 year old to now. I learned that God does not lie, and I can give my troubles to Jesus .... and KNOW I will be given the strength to carry on with life and continue to do what I can for others.
I have held on to that (sometimes for dear life)
I have NEVER been let down by Him.

I've got my weird half-belief in god because deprogramming is a long and difficult process. But, I think questioning the existence of god is a big step I've taken.

BIGGEST REASON: What's the worst that could happen if you believe in God and are wrong? Hell is the worst that could happen if you DON'T believe in God and you're wrong . . . I'm just sayin' - I'd rather stay on the safe side . . .

Because I've been before Her awesome presence. Let go of my ego, and found my self before the Everlasting Everlaster. Extremely humbling.

I personally do because I've seen the god/dess active in my life. I've asked for help in times of great need, and I've received it. I've cried out in times of great suffering and received it. I've cried out in times of confusion and received guidance. I've cried out in pain and misery and received consolation.
What, exactly, would one call that? Luck?
I suppose we could ask why someone beleives in luck, but I choose to give that all to Odinn, the God of War, Magic and Knowledge! Not to mention, one of the many gods of my ancestors! So, basically, it's a choice. Wouldn't you agree?

I believe in God because I need to. He gives me faith and we need that. We need to know that there is someone there to watch over us and look after us. It's a good feeling.

Because He saved my poor miserable soul. He gave me purpose and fulfillment in my life. He has blessed me with a beautiful family and success in business. Because He gives me a peace that passes all understanding. Because He believed in ME enough to send His Son to DIE for me.
