i'm suffering from something called pynomidal sinus. in that i hav to make surgery n for that i hav 2 make my SHIV test. right now i'm having engg. exams n this thought is harrasing me continuously. so please tell what are the probability of getting virus in this conditions. i'm suffering since last 8 months and i'm having openings over my lower end of spinal chord..

You need not worry that much. Screening for HIV is a prerequisite for any surgery. If you are otherwise a healthy person, this test will be negative. Surgery for pilonidal sinus is not a very major surgery. The chances of acquiring HIV infection thru surgery or thru blood transfusions (required sometimes for surgery) & needlepricks are negligible in good medical centres.
