From the DC comics guidebook for super-criminals and
for stealing others ideas:
1-You have to do a crime within the Gotham City limits.
Steal the HOPE-LESS Diamond at the Dimwit Diamond Store!
2-I would do as the Joker, penguin, riddler, or CATWOMAN
have done for years---hire out a dozen thugs to beat up
Batman, Robin, and Batgirl.
And use Minstrel's microwave range on Batgirl & Robin,
set it for DEEP broil!
3-After you've tried to do in the Bat-trio, get beat up by the
heroes, face the judge, and get 30 years to life in Gotham
State Prison.
4-The time is really up to you, George W, but I would set
Peabody's wayback machine only for the 1960's when
the ABC Batman series was running.
5-Hire a good-looking but dumb female aide-de-camp who
only stands around saying stupid things and gets arrested by
Commissioner Gordon.
6-You owe me two points and a hefty fee to ABC & DC comics
for free use of the guidebook.
Or, do this...jaywalk at rush hour.

Ultimately when it is your time.
Everything happens just as it happens you just make sure you enjoy the ride without hurting others.
There is the odd possibility you could be clapped into jail totally innocently then the above applies too.
