In any social milieu you can find fear and intolerance present, if you look closely at any group or organisation there will always be those who express a lack of understanding of different cultures.
The promotion of these sectarian views and false claims of an exclusive method or way to liberation or salvation, is part of the mental conditioning of the fundamental mindset, which promotes
friction, division and hatred, which ironically is the mirrored opposite of the qualities that are propounded to be vital to real elevation, this hypocrisy is adopted by certain religionists who lack real spiritual development.
The primary cause of such derision is ignorance.

You are right. Budhism and HInduism are the only peaceful religions in the world. they do not fight with others over petty religious matters. they know co-existence is the only way to live.
live and let live......
why no prophets from semetic religions could utter the above line in any of thier teachings. they were afraid.
let semetic religions call budhism, hinduism & jainism evil. that does not make it evil. when you are an aggressor, want to hurt someone for no reason, then it is you who is evil. semetic religions just do the same thing with hindus and budhists.
semetic religions have never lived with human beings, that must be another reason. thier origin is from harsh conditions of middle east desert. there is competition for everything in daily life. thier god is always angry, cursing, asking for sacrifice, loyalty. he goes on making promises and till this date did not deliver.
these things definitely hurt the followers of these religions. inspite of trying to convert hindus and budhists for the last 400 years thier population is not growing in hindu and budhist dominated countries. thats a alarming sign for them. also all thier prophecies proved a fallacy. they say, christ is coming, anti-christ is coming. nothing is happening, everything is going against them.. time is running out for them. rich in the west is intersted in budhism and hinduism. many westerners are getting married in vedic traditions. these are hitting the headlines.
the religious leadership is frustrated that church attendance is dropping. they are attending discsourses of dalai lama, satya sai baba, mata amritanandamayi and host of others. they cannot win an argument if they engage these people in a debate. all these factors together driving them to call hinduism and budhism evil.

No I would not, simply because I belief in Christ being the son of God. The bible strongly states that God is jealous God, and we are not to put anything or anyone before Him. That is the first of the Ten Commandments. If you want peace, try Jesus for He is the giver of peace. He will keep you in perfect peace, if your mind is stayed on Him. Everything will go down but the Word of God.

first of all, buddha wasn't a buddhist and jesus wasn't a christian.
it is usually religions that think these things, because spiritual people understand that jesus, buddha, and company were peaceful and spiritual people. and religions which are dominated by power believe anyone beliefs not their own are evil.

fear is the reason. Mostly fear that their own belief is in error. It is a sure sign that either the one who fears is in error or more likely their teacher is teaching fear because that teacher is afraid of losing the flock they lead.
