We seem to develop a type of amnesia during the transition.but some people at different points in their new life can remember bits and pieces of were they had been in one of the last times around.

Reincarnation is simply your body returning to the earth and the chemical structure of it being recycled into something else. Your ego is built up inside others though their interaction with you, thus your soul does not reincarnate after you are gone. Still your body, as part of nature, is recycled an infinite number of times throughout the history of the universe. So your connection with nature can connect you to any point in the space or time, space and time don't exist for God anyway. We are all connected.
