Antibuse. this drug will make you vomit if you drink.
It is a presciption drug, so you'll need to see your doc.

There is the alcohol drip but that is only given to you by a doctor so it can be regulated. I was an alcoholic and the only drug I needed was someone who loved me and had faith in me enough to know the road was going to be hard, but was right there to see me through the good times and bad. Whatever you do to overcome this I wish you the best of luck and Jesus will shine his light upon you and lead you away from Satan's stumbling block. Good luck and God Bless.

The newest drugs on the US market to stop or slow down drinking are Campral and Vivatrol. Campral is in pill form and decreases craving for alcohol. Vivatrol is a shot your doc gives you intramuscularly that decreases craving for alcohol. Either med works best when combined with therapy and/or a recovery program.

There is an antibiotic/antiprotozoan called Flagyl, which is also sold under the name Antabuse and used for exactly this purpose. If you are taking Flagyl (I had to take it a few years ago for REALLY bad food poisoning), they warn you under NO circumstances are you to take alcohol, because you can go into seizures.
When I was in college, a friend's dad was given flagyl under the name Antabuse to prevent him from drinking.
The Sources field lists the Google results page for flagyl (yeah, I get a perverse pleasure out of listing Google searches in Yahoo answers :-).

an herb called kudzu can reduce cravings for alcohol. i take it before i go out drinking and will drink half the amount of alcohol. it also keeps that feeling, like you need one more from hitting you after a few. if you take it in the middle of the day, when you are completely sober, it reduces cravings.
