In addition to your felony criminal evasion charges even if you are later proven not guilty because that is what they do.

The police will impound your car if you are arrested in it, especially after a high speed chase, and it can be kept as evidence. If involved in other crimes, it can be subject to civil forfeiture (as with RICO and equivalent state laws).

If you run from the cops then yes they are going to take your car from you. But later if your proven not gulity I would think there is some way you can get your car back. You need to call your local police department and talk to them. R better yet call a lawyer. Police station may tell you only what they wont you to hear.

I think its ok for them to do so. If you are later proven not guilty, then they would have to give it back. But if you get a guilty conviction then they should be able to sell it at auction to get some of the fines you racked up paid off.

Gee, let' ponder this one. Hmmm..... OK, YES! If you are a stupid asshole who ran from the cops in a motor vehicle, putting innocent ppl at risk. Not only should you lose your car, but also your opportunity to drive. Everyones messed up at some point perhaps, but don't you watch cops moron? Ppl die from stuff like that. Get a clue.

Even if you plea bargain or somehow get aquitted, you still ran, and are wrong.

How do I really feel about it?

to boot having to save all that equipment agoing in which there's a good purchase of electronics and lighting fixtures, etc. there is also the case of the runners. you recognize the adult adult males who wait until eventually the cop is virtually to his window and he blasts off, attempting to flee. Im confident that hardly ever takes position yet in case you've been that cop does not you want to go away your automobile operating so that you've gotten an more advantageous danger of chaseing him down and catching him fairly of one among your pals down the line that is sweet to radio?

I don't like it. It can legally be done, but would doing so be necessary and effective in deterring crime or promoting rehabilitation? That seems unlikely to me. I expect it would only increase resentment of the convict population with no realistic hope of people leaving a life of crime.

Why would anyone run if they were innocent? Other than just sheer stupidity and disregard for other motorists.
