Why do you think you have a soul?? What evidence do you have & What happens right after death??? Why should we
follow everything in the bible when it was translated by man who is flawed??? I believe we should be good to one another but I don't think God hates Gays or anything like that....How do you know stuff like that wasn't added by man???

I am sort of christian but I have to question....it's in my nature!!!
Any good religion should stand up to questioning, so DO NOT shoot me down or I will Ignore you & you won't get 10 pts!!!

My sister said the other day If god is an ocean, then I am a glass of god. I think that is true. I think that is what jesus meant when we said we are all gods children. I think the same message is in many of the religions of the earth. I think of god as the energy that powers this existence and that we each came here to learn something that we can only learn here.

I don't have evidence, I just know that I have a soul. And I have reached my conclusions after long hours of conversation and researching and trying to get a feel for what is right and true. I think that when we die, our soul goes home - returns to the ocean, as it were. And I think it is the warmest, most loving environment to be in. I think the contrast between the existences is what makes being truly alone in this world so very sad.

I think a lot of churches and their doctrine is more about politics and paying the bills than anything else. Christianity herself has survived 2 centuries by swaying and growing with the times and the people - it had to if it wanted to last. That means there are changes to the original text - which could have been religiously inspired or politically inspired. Either way, there is a lot of wisdom in there - particularly when you hold it up to other texts and find the commonalities (that's where the real pearls of wisdom seem to be, in my opinion).

Peace!

To be honest with you I believe that I have a soul, but I have no proof of that. If I did then there would be no atheist in the world. You are absolutely right that man is flawed, but God has shown over and over again that he can get his will across through men and women, and especially through those who are flawed. If the Bible were written by nothing but famous scholars everyone would think it to be a hoax. I'm not expecting you to believe it is perfect, but I can testify that the more I read it the more I realize just how beyond perfect it is. Moving on, God does not hate gays. He doesn't hate any of us. He just does not like the act of homosexuality. No, homosexuality is not the biggest sin in the world, but Christians can not tell everyone that it is alright because that's what they want to hear. Besides the actually commands in the Bible against homosexuality, there is no model whatsoever for homosexual relationship found in the Bible. The only model for a sexual relationship is between a man and a woman. Genesis 2:24, Matt 19:15, Mark 10:7, Ephesians 5:31. These are just a few verses, and you will not find any to support homosexuality. Despite what many people may try to tell you God has your best interest in mind, and the commands he gives us really are for our benefit. God loves us all very much. Why would men add a rule like that to the Bible? I know a few gays. I don't agree with their lifestyles, but I don't hate them. If God allowed homosexuality I would be fine with that, but he doesn't. So, I am not. I really don't know what agenda it would serve for men to make this rule up. I don't think the issue here is homosexuality, but more so our sinful nature to try and find some way out of obeying God's commands. Why do we try to prove that the rule of homosexuality has been added by men? Why not try to do the same thing with adultery or murder? Following God isn't always easy, and we will sin. This is why Jesus died for you. So, you can go to heaven without living the perfect live. Jesus did that for you. Yes, homosexuals can have salvation too. They only have to accept Christ as Lord and Savior.

Ok, here we go. I believe that we have souls because life on Earth is not the full extent of our being. I believe that there is a Heaven...and our souls are immortal. I have no solid evidence, persay, but some things you just feel...and I've also had experiences where relatives that have passed away have made it known that they may be gone...but they are still around. I don't think that you should follow everything that the Bible says...the bible has been interpreted for thousands of years and think that we each have a right to take its passages and interpret them as we will...though many of us choose to have a paster/preacher/minister/preist do this for us...and no, I don't think God hates gay people...i mean...there wouldn't be gay people if God didn't think them up. I always laugh when my dad says that God made homosexuals for Earth's birth control...to keep the population down haha...
Over the years, though I am "Catholic", I have sort of moulded my own Christianic religion...taking pieces from here and there and doing what feels right. That's all that really matters is what makes you feel as though you are being a good person. In the end, no one can judge us but God...
but...I know there are a lot of people out there who say "What if..."
and this is what I say...
Ok..so what if there is no God? If it gives people on Earth something to believe in and it makes them happy to have faith in something...then who or what is it really hurting?
Good luck to you on your journey...and may God bless.

We so much want tobe immortal, and can't, so we imagine a soul which would exist before and after our lives, in a foolish hope that we will live on longer in some other world than we lived in this real world, assuming this is the real world.

As far as the energy in body is concerned, Worms eat up the buried bodies, and use that energy to live, reproduce etc. And the energy we get is from the food we eat.

I think following your conscience is more important than following something written in a book, cos, as you said, books are written by humans. We instinctively know what is good and what is evil, most of the times.

It would be a very poor God that would hate people, no matter what they did. For someone whose shadow is light, A dark emotion like hatred/jealousy should be unthinkable. It is humans who hate, and kill/hurt others in the delusion that they are protecting God and religion by hurting others who are different. But I doubt God needs a human bodyguard.

I don't claim to know what is going to happen after I die. I think I have a soul because there is an inner part of me that directs my body and mind. The part that seems like "the real me" can tell my body how to move and my mind how to think, so I feel that it must be something other than body or mind. Soul is one of the words I use for it along with spirit, awareness, consciousness, will, life-force and others.
I do not understand God as a spirit of hate at all.
Special Bonus Answer: religion is not God. It is merely human ways to try to be closer to God, with varying levels of success.

have you ever lost a family individuals member? Had your heart wrenched out (metaphorically speaking)? Felt exhilaration so severe it further tears on your eyes? Had a connection on something plenty deeper than a actual point with yet another individual? that is your soul, dude. it may experience soreness. it may experience ecstasy--not the drug, that is actual ; ) Your thoughts are inextricably tied on your soul. And your soul is inextricably tied to God (no matter in case you nicely known it or not, the relationship is there). And who reported your soul is immune from all effects of this actual realm? The actual realm has very much to do mutually with your soul.

The soul is a software construct of the physical 3D hardware-self, running on God's super-computer - called the physical universe. The soul is granted free will, to choose.

It's very important to think things through critically before you decide if it is true or false.
The reason we have souls is because it carries with us into our next life the reasons we have lived before and will again.
Reincarnation is just as real to me as streets of gold are to some other religions.

LOL! we all should question, but we should question to seek enlightenment, that's why we all must study things thoroughly before jumping into conclusions with partial knowledge, or just the things that we want to accept. about gays, well, it would take a lot of space in order for me to make you, or anyone understand why it is wrong, and i am too lazy for that. so goodbye, and i hope you'll get a REAL good answer to your question.

The existence of a soul is very logical in regards to the process of astral projection. If it isn't your soul that is leaving (as the astral body), than what else could it be?
