I have extremely thick hair even though it has been thinned out its just soooo thick and it’s really curly. It’s about shoulder length oh and it’s layered. I should probably state my question now... well what other styles can I do besides throwing it up in a ponytail everyday (that’s pretty bad and I’m tired of it) that emphasizes my curls, preferably down and makes it look I guess sleeker.

First off, your hairstylist should inform you..... That lots of curls need some weight... I would grow your hair out a little bit. This provides more weight, and natural flattening of your curls. Also, the layer aren't helping much..... Curly hair should only have long layers, and as short as your hair is, chances are your layers are pretty short, and therfore prone to puff out...... At your length, and while growing some... I would use AVEDA Humectant pomade. This promotes soft and less frizzy curls, by drawing moisture into your curls, not allowing them to frizz out. How about carre. It would also depend on your face a bit, so really I'd say you'd best ask your hairdresser.
Added since details: Stoeffecc got it right about the layering, that's why I recommended carre which is a straight cut, but I'm not sure how it would suit you since you have a square face. If you have a small face it might still work out even though your face is square, but if you have a big face I don't think it would work. Anyway, ask your hairstylist or check with one of the places that have a computer program that shows you how you'd look.

Don't placed a perm on your hair until you are competent for the tasks of taking good care of it. Natural hair is lovely if you happen to desire it instantly blow dry and flat iron however use merchandise to defend it from warmth. When you believe wild and desire to be carefree wash it and move usual, reduce your ends frequently and while you sleep wrap it up or get silk pillow case so it does not holiday off. The chemical compounds in perms could restrict your hair from developing rather lengthy.

You could always try a few twists and then leave it down, it'll be away from you face but still cute. my favorite thing to do with my thick hair is two side french braids but keep some of your bangs out to keep it causal and cute. good luck

my favorite pro product is curls rock and drug store favorite is anti poof by cornsilk, the shampoo,conditioner, and styling add. Avoid blow dryer defusing and let air dry for less volume.

i have foound that aussi products work extreamly well. or use the john-freeman sleek and shine. it has a kind of citrise smell
