I am wanting to get a tattoo on my neck. But the thing is I heard it hurts. Is that true? and I live in Springfield IL and would like to know who in this town does the best job. Any comments would help. thanks.

i suppose its rathe tender area the neck is...it wont be painless thats for sure...just take a gog to bite on!!

Well, I wouldn't know where to get a tattoo in Illinois, but I do know that any tattoo hurts. Some hurt more than others, for example, tattoos on the ribs or side. Anywhere that is senstitive will hurt. And a neck tattoo would hurt. But, all tattoos hurt. If you really want one on your neck, go for it. Yah, it'll hurt, but the pain won't last forever. You'll be fine.

My husband is heavily tattooed including on his neck. Its very very important to chose a really good tattoo and artist. It will be where it can be seen the majority of the time. My partner often gets stereotyped because of how tattooed he is...he is a big teddy bear really!! He calls himself a 'collector of fine art" on the skin. He said that under his arms was the most painful, and admits that the neck was tender particularly after-wards and during the tattoo when he tried to swallow....just take your time, find a tattoo that's symbolic of who you are and find a really good tattooist. We live in Australia so cant help with names sorry...

I have two tattoos. One on my neck, the other on my ankle. Yes, the neck hurt so much worse. It's not unbearable or anything, but it will make you say, "Ow, are you done yet?" Over and over. Mine only took about 15 minutes though.

Different strokes for different folks. I know people with neck tattoos and some say it hurts and others say it's nothing. I know this one girl told me it didn't hurt her at all and I was surprised because she is such a little female.

The back of the neck doesn't hurt. Side, I would assume does.

ive heard that it really hurts to all of my friends that have a tatoon thier neck said so at least. but as far as of where 2 get one i would try the net and try calling the places and ask about thier cred.

my roommate has a tat on the back of her neck and she said it didnt hurt as bad as everyone thought it would. it tickles and stings but not too bad.

i dont know if they hurt but they make your neck look like 5x its natural size!

most parts hurt(if you arent tough, all hurt...lol). btw, they do use NEEDLES. dunno, i dont live there.
