Jews and Musilms don't eat pork because it says so in the Koran and Torah. This is because in the past when they did not have correct hygiene and methods kill of hydattis and other worms people got sick so the leaders of these coumnities said that you don't eat pork because of this. Now Muslims and Jews still don't eat pork beacuse they are keeping with tradtion like their great-great-great grandfathers.

There is one reason that stands true for all the commandments: because God said so. Some commandments are naturally understood (e.g. theft) while other are provided with some explanation. Lack of understanding is not a reason for non-fulfillment. The concept of a ritural diet is to only allow spiritually good food for a human being who is trying to live on a higher level. This does not mean eating any of the foods is physically bad. As well, while I can't confirm this, bacon is not under any suggested diet by Weight Watchers - it actually is unhealthy.

I've often wondered why this ever became an issue in jewish or muslim culture. Hogs are not a natural endemic species in the middle east anyway. The only way they could propogate there is through human management. So somebody must have been doing some breeding way back when. If the local cultures shunned them as "unclean" there would be no demand for them, so no reason to bother ranching them.

It would be like admonishing a North American... thou shalt not eat the flesh of a kangaroo, for it is unclean...

I'll tell you why,

Pigs are animals that don't completely get rid of the urine in their bodies, the release a certain amount of it out of their body and the rest goes back in their blood system, causing these animals to contain a big amount of waste in their blood. By having all that waste in their blood, of course, it (the waste) is spread through out the whole body, leaving us with a unclean animal called (pig).

Also try revising for your self, where do pigs like staying?

Of course, either in mud baths, or in filthy places.

Like the old words say YOU DO THE MATH.

unless I am mistaken the Jew's do not eat pork because God told them it was (forbidden),and considered an unclean animal for food. Just like no fish without fins and scales (no catfish ect.):
The only 4 legged animals that are considered clean are (sheep, goats, cattle) all others are considered unclean.

The pig is considered to be an un-clean animal. However we now know that the chicken is the dirtiest.

G-D declared certain animals, fish, and fowl to be unclean. For an animal to be clean it must have a fully cloven hoof,at least two stomachs, and chew its'own cud.The pig does not chew cud and has only one stomach.
