Which established religion/s do you consider to be cults?

Hi Tony - thanks for your inout - so do you believe all religions?

Any religion that cannot prove that God exists is a cult. They've had thousands of years to show proof, but always come up empty handed. However religion takes in 3 billion dollars a year in tax free donations. The belief business is very lucrative. I consider all of them to be cults.

You are likely to get a number of trollish responses, I'm afraid.

I have found that many "True Believers" (in Eric Hoffer's sense of the word), from _virtually all religious/spiritual paths_, like to use that term to denigrate any faith they don't approve. (As a Pagan, I've been on the receiving end myself....)

For what it's worth, have heard/read over the years many, many charges from "fundamentalists" (whatever they are; the definitions seem to keep changing) that the following groups are "cults": Jehovah's Witnesses, Latter Day Saints (Mormons), 7th Day Adventists.

There seems to be a very vocal bunch of folk that feel ANYONE who isn't a monotheist, or a follower of a Western traditional religion, is a cult member.

Sincerely wish that people would spend less time LABELLING each other's behaviors/religions, and more asking politely "OK, I'm curious....just WHY do you feel that way, and how does it improve your life?" But not holding my breath over that wish coming true soon....

I have no real religion of any sort although I am technecly church of england-Anglican I dont tend to follow it in any way, I drink abit and I never goto church.
but to answer you questions, most religions aren't as bad as people and the media make them out to be, it just takes time to understand each one and what each one stands for/beleives in, though since you asked for cults, although these are just my personal dislikings for varying reasons,

other than those two people need to accept those with different beleifs into normal socioty, maybe then the muslim hatrad that we see at the moment might slow down or even better stop completely.

I say the Catholics because they have a well known leader calling himself Father which not even Jesus dared to use the title.

Christendom? Not really, They can't be considered unconvnetional because like the world they believe in war and killing other people.

Any kind of religion that worships satan in any way, satanism, wicca, those sorts, also Catholics, Hutterites, Muslims, or any kind that twists your mind or where you have to wear a uniform. Basically any kind that does not follow God's rules based on the Holy Bible.
