great matchup! and very tough to call. spinks opens an early lead. his awkward style, good jab & strange punching angles seem to confuse moorer. spinks is very aware of his feet, keeping moorer from getting position. in round 7, spinks lands a straight right which stuns moorer. as spinks follows up, moorer suddenly steps right & nails spinks with a perfect left. spinks drops to the canvas. he takes the 8count & looks dazed, but manages to stay out of harms way till the bell. the next few rounds see a more cautious spinks moving & jabbing as moorer tries to send the left home. in round 11, moorer rushes in, catching spinks with a left that sends spinks into the ropes. moorer smells victory & closes for the kill. he lands a body shot & a glancing blow to the head. spinks spins away & as moorer closes, spinks lands a flush right, stopping moorer in his tracks. a quick left/right drops moorer. the round ends. in the final round, moorer presses spinks hard & appears to hurt him with another left, but spinks holds on for a majority decision. boxing clamors for a rematch, but spinks isnt interested. he's off to prepare for holmes..., it would be different at cruiser or heavy, & maybe even in a rematch at 175, but here spinks experience vs better opposition pays off. once

I think Moorer wins in a KO. At 175 Moorer had ridiculous power. I think Spinks extends him by "boxing" but eventually that chin gets touched and he can't recover. I'd say the fight goes about 8 or 9 rounds. As the rounds go on, Spinks will slow down and not be as hard to hit for Moorer.

The awkward style of Spinks wins this fight. he wouldn't let Moorer get set to throw his bombs. Spinks would be busy with his jab. Result: Spinks by unanimous decision.
