Waxing is probably the best solution for avoiding irritation and keeping the legs smooth the longest. Aloe Vera is best for irritation, especially if it's straight from the plant. (You can buy an aloe vera plant from a nursery.) There are also a lot of manufactured aloe vera compounds you can buy at a drug store, which include the essence, but natural is best.

Aloe Vera rocks but beware of getting drugstore kinds which contain colouring, preservatives(parabens etc) and more nasties. Aloe sap is clear not brilliant green! Tea tree must be diluted 1drop for approx 2 tsps base (eg. aloe vera) but pure Lavender Essential Oil much better for inflammation. Also check out German Chamomile which works in synergy with Lavender. Combining Lavender Essential Oil with Aloe is optimum. You can get organic, preservative free aloe vera in a bottle form Plant&Planet, along with the pure Essential Oils. If you want it more moisturising you can mix in Calendula Infused Oil.

Use a soap with salicylic acid, Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash is a good one. Exfoliate before you shave next time (I use this soap on a pouf), use a good gel or cream, change your blades often, and moisturize after shaving.
