what brid should i get?

i live in australia and i after a good, cheap bird other then finches and budgies

I prefer cockatiels myself. They're gorgeous birds with a sweet personality, at least in comparison to love birds. In North America Love birds are nick names feathered pit bulls. I would suggest Green cheek conure, too, but I believe you need a permit to own one in oz.

lovebirds. they are not feathered pitbulls at all!!! pitbulls can be a lot nicer sometimes!!LOL. i have two lovebirds who step up and play with toys and even my two year old handles them. the first time they tried to bite we said no and shook our finger a little and they havent tried again, but they have some really moody days though. if you like a challenge get a lovebird. one if you want devotion two if you just want to watch because they bond to each other and not their owner. good luck.

well it depends on what you want. I myself chose Parakeet they are fairly small easy to maintain and very pretty. I'm not sure whats all in Australia but something like that should be good.

How about a dove? Some of them are pretty cheap. And if you get a pigeon, you can let it fly outside and it will come home.
