Yes you can get a last minute flight at the airport.
You should ask at the airline desks.
In some cases they will tell you straight away if there's stll alot of seats left and just sell a ticket as normal.
But sometimes they will put you on a waiting list, you wait til the very last minute and if someone who bought a seat doesn't turn up they will sell the seat to you. In this case you will need to be ready, so a minimum amount of luggage and have everything ready (documents/payment etc..)!!!
Not sure if they only accept certain payments with last minute/cancellation bookings? Worth checking though!

most airlines will not let you have a last minute cancellation unless you have insurance ,an emergency proven my medical specialists , such as an emergency or death ;
if you buy an airline ticket with a check ? not sure and do not think you can get reimbursed ..........?
it is always best to purchase your airline ticket by a credit or debit card .........
you also must confirm your flight 24 hours before leaving .........
