Dogs are no different than humans when it comes to caloric intake. A calorie is a unit of heat that your body burns for energy. When the weather is hot, humans and canines eat less. This could could be why your dogs are not eating. My dogs eat next to nothing in the summertime. If they are not eating and visibly losing weight, then you should take they to another vet and get a second opinion.

I have a very finicky dog myself. Try a few different foods made from different meats. My dog will starve efore she eats lamb! Unfortunately, many of the "healthier foods" contain Lamb. See if you can rule out what they refuse to eat maybe try canned food for a while or maybe mixing. I even tried to "Mix" Gravy Train and Purina Mainstay (the one with lamb) nope she won't eat. I now actually feed them a baked dog food made at a local dog food manufactering co. in the nex city and I make a pasta/turkey mix (which she looooves and is super cheap 1 turkey can be bagged up to make about 5 pots of stew" ps my dog is on a high carb diet she has insulinoma I would use regular rice instead for healthy dogs and in small portions)

Good luck

Contact the vet again or find a different one. Try sprinkling cat food on their food.I wonder how old your dogs are hoping its not Parvo if they are young. Also give them pedialyte so they dont dehydrate. Are they having dierria also?Have they gotten into anything like anti-freeze,,that is a killer with just one lick.Let the stomach rest for a couple days & then try rice with boiled burger,,completely cooled.

It won't hurt them to go without food for a day or two. If they're not vomiting or have diarrhea, and if they're not lethargic, I wouldn't worry too much. If it's been more than 3 days, I'd go back to the vet for more help

Did you recently change the brand of dog food you are feeding them? I know that my dogs like particular brands of food and if I change it to something else they do not like they will not eat.

Take some wet food and rub it on their fur. They will lick it off. This worked with our cat who stopped eating for no explained reason.

maybe they're not hungry...or they're on a crash diet!! Or..they're thirsty instead of hungry...or maybe you overfed them too much one time and they got really full.
