During the last 7 days, I have noticed that when something bothers me, I feel as if I am going to lose my mind. I get a strange feeling in my forehead and even get dizzy and raise my voice and feel as if I am going to have an outburst. I had heard of the phrase "losing the mind," but thought that it was just a group of words. Have I had any recent change in my life? I just felt extremely uncomfortable last week when my application for a job was rejected. It was a 24k position, but even though I finished graduate school, they said I didn't meet the minimum qualifications. I applied online, so it has nothing to do with my personality. That's all I get every time that I apply for a job. I don't know if that is the reason I feel exasperate with everything that happens to me, but I am afraid I may have a kind of nervous/anxiety attack in public. Have you ever felt like this?

You're having an anxiety attack, which is actually normal with all the pressure on you.

Don't worry about finding the perfect job right now. Easy to say, yes, but I've always found it better to get an entry level job, then keep your eyes open for other opportunities.

As for those rejected apps, many companies are required to outside-advertise their jobs, even though they already have someone inside the company lined up for it. This isn't fair to other applicants, but it's reality in today's business world.

You may also be setting your standards too high, based on your education, and putting too much pressure on yourself, even if you are extremely qualified. Thus being rejected is twice as hard to take.

Get some counseling and treatment for the anxiety attacks before they become overwhelming. In essence, the attacks are trying to slow you down. Your inner self knows you are upset and panicking over your situation, and is trying to de-rail you before it becomes crippling.

Slow down, get some help, don't worry about the rejections so much, and it will be a lot easier for the perfect job to materialize for you.

Good luck.

I'm no expert, but what you're describing sounds like a panic or anxiety attack. You seem to be going through quite a stressful time in your life, and maybe it's manifesting in these sudden "off the wall" type feelings. There is treatment available - don't let it get a grip on you, or it will be hard to shake. See your doctor - hang in there & good luck.

Feel better soon!

Stress can have a subtle cumulative effect over time, and you may not notice how debilitating it's become until you start having some frightening emotional and psychological reactions to situations, people and events that used to seem entirely managable. My suggestions is that you confide in someone you trust, reveal what's happening with you and start making choices that allow for less stress in your life. It's also a very good idea to see a physician for a full check-up. Make sure to tell him/her about your recent conflicts so that referrals can be made if warranted.

You may want to see someone at a mental health center..The dizzines can be a lot of things. Is there mental illness in your family? Do you have depression all of the time? This will tell the Doc about you. Hope things get worked out so you can pursue your career. Best of luck to you!

YEAH! I felt like that for months and months, EXACTLY like that. Your not "losing your mind". Funny mine started after I finished graduate school and was rejected from jobs too. Its anxiety, try going to the doctor. Paxil worked for me.

I agree with notyou311, sounds like anxiety. It can be treated with drugs, but you doctor will have to disgnose it.

If it is something else, it probably can be treated in some other way, but you really need to see someone about it.

No one can diagnose it for sure over the Internet.

Get a physical examination. Tell your Doctor. Get therapy before going on any medication. You may be having anxiety. I dont recommend any antidepressant medication until all options have been exhausted.
