Enlisting is the greatest thing you could do for your country, but yes, you will lose some of your freedom if you choose to fight for the freedom of your countrymen and women. Here's the breakdown from a soldier:
1. You will get the best training in the world.
2. You very well might be called upon to fight for your nation.
3. That is the greatest thing anyone could do.
4. The GI Bill is there and strong and when you get done, you can go back to school for anything you want.

Don't join the Reserves unless you're in ROTC. Join the National Guard. The difference is if you're in the reserves the unit you are in is meaningless. If they need someone with your training they can just call you to active duty.
In a Guard unit you are part of the State Militia and they have to call up your entire unit. I think its winding down now so I would be real concerned about being called to active duty.
What would prevent you from finishing school when you returned from active duty anyway?

Reserves have in basic terms federal advantages at a similar time as look after has state advantages besides. There are additionally greater MOS's obtainable in the look after (try against palms) and distinctive possibilities like AGR (finished time). there is likewise a glance after SF unit in case you like that stuff. they are tremendously comparable nevertheless. so some distance as promotions go, that relies upon on your unit and MOS. you're able to be in a stagnant look after or Reserve unit. they additionally get stated as distant places at somewhat a similar value (bear in mind that the look after is better than 2x greater than the reserves). standards are a similar for all branches of the army relying on MOS for non-previous service. detect a distinctive recruiter.

Since the democrats won the election they will back out of Iraq and Af.. so you probabaly won't get pulled in until we got attacked again for backing out. I'd say you'd have two maybe three years. So you could get an A.A. by then.

I'm not sure, you need to talk to a recruiter, but I do believe that you are likely to go. But, the school has to hold your place and let you pick things back up where you left them....
