Take your height in inches, multiply by your age, subtract how many calories you eat per day, then walk 2 miles at a brisk pace. Did you survive the brisk walk without getting exhausted or tremendously out of breath or hurting? Then you are probably a healthy weight for YOU!!! Everyone is unique. A healthy weight for a 5'7" you may be far from the healthy weight of a 5'7" someone else. Really, the notion that there is a universally correct weight for a given height, or age, or sex is incorrect. Is 200 lbs. a healthy weight for you... obviously not. But a fairly large range could be, it all depends on the reality of you as a unique living organism. Is it possible to generalize just for a reference... I suppose, but I stress YOU may not fit the norm... ideal for you may be thinner than it is for others, or the opposite... your body makeup may dictate that you be "thicker". I hope this helps. Tables exist everywhere to give you some body's opinion of what is healthy or ideal. Take them with a huge grain of salt... or a salad. Be happy.

Know if you need to lose weight

Health specialist use a measure called BMI, short for Body Mass Index. Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women. This gives a good measure of your total body fat. BMI compares your height and weight. It shows if you are underweight, at a healthy weight, or overweight.

You know how many pounds are there in 1 kg. Do not know let me help you, it is 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds. Check out what your BMI is by using the BMI calculator.
http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.htm

BMI Category
Below 18.5 Underweight
Between 18.5 - 24.9 Healthy Weight
Between 25 - 29.9 Overweight
Over 30 Obese

Look at the BMI chart to find out how much weight you need to lose to move from obese to overweight or from overweight into a healthy range. Knowing this can help you set a good weight loss goal.

It depends on your ethnicity. White women tend to go the more narrower route where as if they cannot loose weight they are pointed toward an eating disorder that will eventually lead to death where as minority women don't have issues with a few extra pounds ( hereditary) , however we are more at risk for diabetes, high blood pressure and breast cancer. Some other cultures see weight as wealth and thinness as poverty. We are in the Fat USA where most things like french fries are considered something that you cannot live without ( go figure). With all the info I just listed, I guess me, being 5 ft 7 inches, I have a greater chance then maybe you in worrying about the listed diseases such as diabetes etc... so in other words I will live my life happy and not worrying about a few extra pounds! There is a difference in a few extra pounds and morbidly obese.

I always heard 100 pounds for the first 5 feet of your height and 5 pounds for each inch over that.
So for 5 foot 7, about 135 pounds - give or take 5-10 pounds depending on build.
If you want to get very specific - look up how to calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index) there are probably several charts on the Internet.

Depending on your shape and fitness level. I'm 5'7, pear-shaped, and have 21% body fat; I weigh 135 lbs and wear a size 4/6. It really depends on your body, but health wise between 118-159 is about accurate.
