Yes.
But you can't be so faithful that you are no longer having fun living. A relationship with God is liberating, not binding. A relationship with a religion can sometimes be binding. These things, however, are utterly different. The living God, when sought and found, offers a freedom so incomprehensible that it's unimaginable until he gives it to you.

Of course! I'm speaking as a Christian when I say there are plenty of Christians out there who are so "heavenly minded" that they are no "earthly good." It's a shame really when we are called to be the salt of the earth. How can we be salt if refuse to be thrown into the pot and once in we add no flavor? We don't tend to be party people because we realize that we are not put on this earth to piss our time away. We are to win souls. How can one win souls if he/she is so withdrawn and sour and "holier than thou" that it turns people off? I personally KNOW people in the church like this. I've told many of them to their face that they give Christians a bad name.
btw, I LOVE life and I have a lot of fun!

The truth is joy is the second fruit of the Spirit. That means that if you are in the Lord, you have the joy of the Spirit. It is manifested by musical instruments from what I have read. The lyre, or harp, or dancing in the Spirit.
I enjoy dancing. I consider it fun. If you do too then perhaps you too could find joy in the Spirit.

To be too religious is to be legalistic and that is not of God!! Legalism is full of judgment and living by the law but Christ died for our sins which completed the covenant of righteousness. We are no longer under the law but the blood of Christ which brought forgiveness. Read Romans.

I think people can get extremely somber. But I think those kind of people had that sort of "bent" in the first place. The bible says that Jesus came to give us life, and that abundantly. It also speaks of joy, which is certainly my experience of being a Christian.

the way people live without religion "is not living but dying slowly"
but if you are truly religious and have a religion based on living a wondrous life you will know what living truly is.
