yes, but if you use credit to pay a student loan (or any govt loan or tax) once the loan is "forgiven" under bancruptcy or written of by the creditor, you will most likely be issued a 1099-C and the write off reported as income under your social security number. Good luck filing bankruptcy against the IRS when you don't report the write off as income. Your best bet, to beat the system, is to make a $50 payment every 6 months.. This will put you behind all those that totally defaulted and stop the notices that i'm sure your getting for another 3 months. Hope that helps... brb.. i have a couple $50 payments to make ;))
