Guess What It's The Gov't Fault That Illegal Immigration Costs Us A Cent. If They Didn't Allow Them All The Benefits Of American Citizenship Just Because They Are Physically In America Then There Wouldn't Be A Problem...Ask Your Govt Why It Give Illegal Immigrant Medicad, Food Stamps, Medicare, Child Care ect....And You Dont Even Have To Be A Citizen.....They Wouldn't Come Here If The Gov't Didn't Work Like This Same With The Cubans...Soon As They Touch Land They Can Get Benefits.....Maybe You Should Spend Less Time On Yahoo! Answers And More Time Writting Your Congressman.......

You talk about the cost of education and incarceration, but what you have failed to point out is MOST of the cost goes to American workers in the form of jobs. If you stop the money, you put a LOT of teachers, police officers, guards and other prison personnel out of work. When they work, they pay taxes, and they BUY stuff. Which is how our economy works. The money is not wasted or lost.

You should know that human services jobs fall under this big category called "social services." Firefighters, police officers, teachers, nurses, hospital staff, EMT's and a host of others all feed their AMERICAN families with the money you say is "costing" taxpayers.

When I pay my taxes, it is no longer my money. I want society to function smoothly and it can't if we don't have the necessary social services. A good many people in this country make a good deal of money, and have a good deal of expendable income. Now, could you part with a few dollars so that we can have teachers to teach your children, construction crews to build your highways so you can go to work, nurses to tend to you when you are sick, police to help when you are in trouble and prisons to house the most heinous of societal offenders?

I think you can, I know I can, and will!!

There is a great deal of money spent making sure that one or two don't get a free meal here or there. Meanwhile the truly needy slip through the cracks. If you want to go after jobs, go after theirs.

Peace.

the point is, i don't think we "the people" are being listened to on any thing we protest, or vote against.

Our government is now big enough to "control" us. they work together with the big corporations, and kiss eachothers Azzes.

I don't think that it would be fair to deny people from Mexico who truly want to come to America to work for a better life. JUST DO IT LEGALLY!

If they would pass a law that made it illegal to higher an illigel immigrant and pay him sh+t for a wage, then the chance would remain equal for americans to have their share of work, because employers wouldn't grab the cheap labor. They use the Mexicans for cheap labor, then laugh at us, for buying their goods at skyrocket prices, where they make a huge profit.

So really it is our own corporations that are contributing to this problem. Instead of hiring me for 7 dollars an hour, they'll save that 3 and pay a mexican 4 dollars. they laugh at us, and them, and the illigels send the money back to Mexico where it is worth more.

What is the point? Nothing is going to be done. The wall is an idea almost as stupid as invading Iraq. It is a complete waste of money and resources that will not accomplish anything. The only reason it is even being discussed is so politicians can placate their constituencies. The US-Mexico border is the third busiest international border in terms of legal trade. Any wall will come with a thousand holes.

People already risk their lives and never seeing their families again to escape the economic devastation of their lives in Mexico and other countries. No wall can stop that. And, the illegal trade has too many resources and is run by people too smart to be confounded by a little wall. We do have decisions to make about the immigration situation, but to date everything being discussed will accomplish nothing.

We could not get 100,000 people out of New Orleans when we knew where they were and they wanted us to get them. It is impossible to do anything with 20,000,000 people who do not want to be found and do not want to leave. Iraq has only 25,000,000 million people, and you can see our success at managing that population.

They are already an integral part of our society, and there numbers are only going to increase. You can dislike the situation all you want, but unless you get people to start discussing workable solutions, running around complaining about it does no good. It is too late to sound the alarm, they are already inside the gate and they will continue pouring over the wall.

here is something for you to think about, you tell your goverment to stop keeping the economics in latin americans down, could you live on 150.00 a month?? i bet not, would you want to go somewhere else to get money for your family, hell yes you would, we all would. our goverment plays a big role in the economic situation in most latin american countries, the goverment does not want them to develop, that might mean competition,a threat!!! you need to look at the big picture, study your facts, then ask this again..i would rather pay my tax dollars helping people, then pay for goverment parties, trips, bushes personal war, they live on us, pay no taxes...educate yourself...
i am not hating, i just think you need to know the whole truth..instead of worrying about money and the problem, find out the cause first, why are they coming here, whats going on, make the changes at the root of the problem first . try to help not hate!!!!.

Great info.
I can see a lot of people don't care and don't listen. I just talk to everyone that I can about it, but people supporting them don't budge no matter what you say to them. You could say the illegals do whatever and they make excuses for them. Then whine and complain about citizens who are disabled or elderly. Its like they would rather help out criminal minds then help out good people who can't help theirselves.

Whatever. I think if WE as people and people who do have authority to get things changed, would step up to the plate and take away ALL RIGHTS from them that citizens have...it would make them want to go home. If they are illegal, they just should not be here, period. If they are legal, then they would have nothing to worry about.

Also, responding to the excuse I seen about "well, your ancesters are immigrants, blah, blah." We are all sick of that excuse and my ancesters were legal and most of our white and black citizens are of LEGAL ancesters. It is just another excuse for them to make. Right along with "well, they are poor....they are trying to make a better life....they don't have it easy there..." I think everyone needs to step into the real world. It is not easy for ANYONE, everyone wants a better life, and there are PLENTY of poor people here who don't commit crimes.

The best qualified professional Economists and leading academic researchers after scrutinizing all the data time after time arrive at the same results which indicate unequivocally the Net economic and social benefit to the USA from south of the border undocumented workers.
The leading person contradicting all these experts is Gilchrist , an accountant by trade affiliated with known avowed racist organizations such as the KKK.

I take the current number of undocumented workers, subtract that from the blue-collar jobs that average Americans are too proud, lazy, or unwilling to do, then ask them how much productivity would be lost if all those workers were deported. Faced with having no one around to clean their pool, bus their table at the country club, babysit their nine kids, or change the oil on their Mercedes-Benz makes most anti-immigrant blue-bloods stammer and gape.

S'fun to do. :)

I'm not going to do anything to teach anyone the cost of illegals in our country. What the hell do I know? Nope, I'm just going to continue going to college, get my accounting degree, raise my children, love my husband, and hope that those in the know will make a decision based on the cost effectiveness of that decision. Do not insinuate that I am responsible for the education of the masses. I am responsible for the educaiton of myself and my children. Let others' deal with his or her own ignorance in his or her own way.
