beats so hard, and I shake so bad, I feel like I'm going to drop dead. Forget having a conversation with these people, because I can't even have a clear thought..what is this and what can I do. It's only a handful of situations, but in some of them I HAVE to be able to particapate. Sometimes I'm trying so hard to hide the shaking, and my heart takes over, that I'm just walking out of situations saying goodbye, and I know people are thinking I'm weird. What is this and can it be treated w/o med's?

Hi, I am sorry to hear this. You didn't state if this has always happened to you or not?! If it is something new you are experiencing then I would really speak to a Doc. Sometimes a load of stress in other areas of your life can make you heart race and do funny things. It isn't uncommon to have panic attacks when stressed or nervous. There are probably a lot of options out there to help you with out taking meds. I would really talk to your family doctor as soon as you can, just to make sure there isn't something majorly wrong. Take Care of yourself and remember you are the best judge of yourself and what you need. Sending you lots of smiles :) :) :)

very good advice above, and it sounds like my anxiety or panic attacks i don't have social anxiety.
and anti depressants make it worse.
i take buspirone doesn't make you "high" takes about 3-4 weeks and suddenly not so many problems.
everyones chemistry is different.

do some research.

see the MD to make sure you don't have a heart or vascular problem.. and then a mental health person to discuss. traumas from lately or a long time ago can suddenly come up.

sometimes a short period of meds only will fix.
and try to find options with least side effects. and get someone you trust involved and supportive if you can.

you can also contact nami and nih.

Go to your doctor and get some Xanax. I was So freaking out that I felt like I was choking sometimes and would have terrible anxiety attacks. Xanax is very addicting so use it only when you need to. My Rx was for more than I needed it so it last along time but when you need it.......you need it.
