Me and my mom have argued over this topic for years. It's really not in the bible. Fornification is leaving your wife for another woman or selling sex. Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery is cheating, selling sex, incest, or homosexuality. So I was just wondering what scriptures that leaves left. And I suggest reading closely.

I've studied this subject closely within the bible the definitions I gave you are according to scripture...I want someone to actually prove to me where it says "You must be married to have sex"...not someone quoting what they learned in sunday school...

1 Corinthians 7:8-9 Now to the unmarried and the widows i say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

While this states for you to get married...In this same verse it says it is better to stay unmarried...it contradicts itself...and it's only saying to get married if you can't control yourself...which I am assuming out of control would be with several different guys whom your not commited to in some way weither it be dating or marriage

I get my definitions from the bible as it says what they are in scripture not form a dictionary...that isn't written from the bible. I suggest actually reading and studying this subject and not going by what you were taught all your life. In biblical days marriage was having sex and the ceremony was only a celebration of that. geez think of how many people are married and don't know it. By the way my mom is a minister so image what's she goign through now that she's been proven wrong.

I had that argument ten years ago with my mom too.
Today I'm still not married and I'm having the best sex ever. And well, she is too and she's 65 years old.
So I will just tell you this, if there's love it can be the most beautiful thing, even if you're not married.
So stop worrying and live your life, you just have to be responsible for your acts. If you do it with love, I'm sure God will be happy.

My mother explained it to me this way: Every time you have sex with someone it's like giving a little piece of your spirit/soul away (since sex was to be a spiritual connection between husband and wife not just physical). So after all those times of giving that part of you away - you would not be as spiritually "in tact" for your spouse and so the spiritual one-ness of becoming "one flesh" would be very strained and incomplete - not as close as it was intended to be.

I can tell you from all the wrong choices I made - and then choosing to be a "born-again virgin" so-to-speak - sex is very different and much better when you have a pure spiritual and physical connection with your husband. Interesting how the Hindu people realize that the spiritual element of sex is very signficant!

BTW, it is in the Bible. Like me 15 years ago, maybe you just don't want to find it because you don't want to give up what the secular society wants us to believe is okay??

It is clear by the verse "burn with passion".

Fornication is sex between unmarried partners. Adultery is cheating on a spouse. Prostitution is selling sex. All are mentioned as no no in the Bible.

Fornication is sex outside of marriage.

Jesus said, to keep from being fornicators all men should marry.

Paul further says that eating meat with fornicators is wrong, so is keeping their company.

For all intents and purposes, if you have sex outside of marriage that act marries you to the person for life. Leaving them, except for adultery, make you an adulterer if you have sex with someone else.

The act of joining together and becoming one makes you married statutorily.

Sex outside of marriage, hence, is allowable ONE time, after they you are bound. From them on in anything you do that isn't with the one person is sinful, unless you catch THEM doing something with someone else other than you. Then you are free to set them aside and find someone else.

Fornication is not leaving your life for another woman. That's adultery. Fornication is having sex outside of marriage.
You have sex with someone you are making your body one with that person's body. That is pretty serious commitment. When the committment is not there you are living a lie. It makes it much harder to live a good open, trusting married life afterward.
If you haven't fallen into that yet, I hope you don't. Believe me you will be happy you waited.
By the way, wouldn't you like it if your life's partner turns out to have never had sex with another before you?
Another thing: if you have sex with a number of different partners, then you will end up comparing your life partner (husband or wife) with previous ones. Makes for a rather unsatisfying sex life.

Merrium Websters says fornication is consensual sex between 2 persons who are not married to eachother. The Bible says that those practicing it will not inherit God's Kingdom. I am not real sure what your question is, though.

1Cor 7:8 I speak to those who are not married. I also speak to widows. It is good for you to stay single like me. 9 But if you can’t control yourselves, you should get married. It is better to get married than to burn with sexual longing.

fornication is any sex outside of marriage. adultery is having sex with a married person or being married to someone else and having sex with another. God made sex for marriage only. 1 man 1 woman married for life.

Seems you think you have been reading closely ... looking for a loop-hole?

Like "Mr Ed" says: "Fornication is not leaving your life for another woman. That's adultery. Fornication is having sex outside of marriage."

So, no loop-holes!!!
