I'm not talking about the ice sheet on Antartica. The melting artic cap wouldn't raise sea level very much because it is just ice floating on water, right? So what are the positive outcomes of this, if any?

how do you figure that ice floating on water is less of a melt problem than other types of ice? Doesnt melting raise the total volume of water in the oceans and therefore raise the sea level?

wrong!!!! the arctic ice caps melting can cause major damage .not only raise ocean levels ,but too much fresh water in the ocean can wreak havoc on our weather.
