On the expensive side you can do a laser peel or even just regular peels. Many dermatologists and salons offer these services (my health insurance covers my peels). They start at around $100 a treatment. The peels basically peel layers of skin of your face. I have them often and they are painless, and do a great job reducing the appearance of scars. The laser peels are somewhat more intrusive in that they leave your skin red for a couple of days, however they are extremely effective in reducing the appearance of scars.
If you don't have that kind of money make sure to use a good moisturizer on your skin, this will help reduce redness and make your skin appear smoother. I suggest AVEENO moisturizer with SPF 30.
